It's been a mixed bag this season, I haven't relied on numbers too much this season because I lost all my model data and had to try to remember it and it has taking me this long to feel comfortably with it again. I never use models by itself, I always try to use it as part of a system I make and track as much as possible to find it's strengths. I've went against my numbers quite a bit so far, again tonight with Princeton, but I won't be doing that as much. I always look at a few things besides running numbers, I check the Head to Head history, Common Opponents, Dual Game Logs and try not to be on too popular of a side.

This is my 4th season and I've always done good at NCAAB, but I'm obviously having a bad season. My problem this season besides getting my model right has been the same lack of discipline that I have. Sometimes, I know I should just walk the board, like tonight and the closer it gets to game time and I talk myself into it anyway, so many times I've posted my early plays and they'll do good, then I'll add a bunch of losers. And then there's stuff I know I should be doing, like watching a lot more games, but I have to limit my time and games are usually on when I'm spending time with my wife, while I can get data done in the office at any time. I know my strengths and weakness', somethings I do very well and somethings I lack in. At the end of the day, I do this for fun and never risk anything I can't lose, ups and downs will come, but maybe one day I will put it all together and be a consistent capper, but I still need more experience though.

If you want winners, check out my NHL thread, I always do good in Hockey, prolly cuz I actually use good discipline, but I think there is something to me not knowing as much about NHL teams or players as I do in other sports, because then I don't let my perceptions get in the way of anything. I just use SDQL and look for spots, but surprisingly, I've barely used any SDQL in basketball this year. I gotta pace myself a little and not get burned out, cuz MLB is coming up very soon.
