    How did Tulsa get in????
I've watched this team play a ton because I live in Tulsa. They were great years ago when Tubby Smith and Bill Self were coaching but this team doesn't have the same level of players.

Going into the American tournement I thought they needed to win at least two games to even get in the discussion among the bubble teams.

Not only did they not win two games, they got blown out in their first game by 22 points.

Tulsa had some decent wins over Uconn, Temple, Cincy, Wichita State, Iona, and SMU but they also had some really had losses against Arkansas Little Rock and Oral Roberts.

I was shocked when I saw them pop up on the screen.

Syracuse and Vandy shouldn't have gotten in either. I would have easily put St. Mary's and Monmouth in over them.

No idea how them or Cuse got in. Vandy was borderline bad, but they did reel off a nice stretch near the end of the conference schedule. I assumed Tulsa was done when they got blown out by Memphis.

I feel like whenever you get these teams that don't belong, they make a run in the tournament (haven't they in the past?). Tulsa could beat Michigan and then beat ND. It's not like those two teams are much better than them.

Probably because they are in a stronger football conference now. I guess with those wins there is a case to make as well as with Syracuse. They want the money to go to the major conferences. They put in a lot of boring teams like Michigan. The seeding was ridiculous with Colorado, Temple, Oregon State. The whole thing is totallly rigged this year.

If St Marys was BYU, they probably would have gotten in.

I think the committee has to put Monmouth in there. Every year they say...."you have to test your self in the non-conference." Monmouth did that and beat some good teams. I know they had a few bad losses but that is bound to happen when you play 25+ games a year against scrubs.

Monmouth was the team that got screwed.

I would actually rank Tulsa above Saint Mary's. Look up Saint Mary's schedule. They only beat one tournament team all year long (Gonzaga). Their schedule was filled with a lot of cream puffs.

          Meanwhile Tulsa beat the following:

          Uconn
          Wichita State
          Temple
          Iona
          Cincy
          SMU

To clarify, I would have put Saint Mary's in over Syracuse and Vandy because of the eye test. I would have also put monmouth in over them. I'm not even sold on Michigan....

Vandy played a lot of good teams but they lost to all 90% of them.

They aren't going to give St. Marys and Monmouh a seat at the table. Obviously, if BYU had the season St Mary's had they would be in. It is not an accident that they are seeding all these teams higher than they should be and knocking out teams that might make a run and letting in the Michigans and Syracuses. That is where the money is. Syracuse will bring fans and they'd prefer to see thing maybe make a Sweet 16 run.

They jack Baylor up to a 5 seed. They've got all these mediocre team rated above Wichita State. How can these 10 seeds be above Wichita Stae? Because They don't play football and they want to knock them out.

Texas Tech, Oregon State, Colorado. They can't leave out Michigan to get in a St Mary's? Of course not.

Tulsa getting in is preposterous and I liked these guys alot a few weeks ago but they faded. Only 2 or 3 teams tops shoud have made it in from that conference. Pretty much agree with BigD on all. Treu St MArys had easy schedule but they did not get upset alot either, they had a shtload of wins in the end.

If St. Marys and Monmouth square off in the NIt, are you betting Monmouth at pick?

They could go further than that. But they are hoping Vanderbilt knocks them off. That's why you have them a play in and put all these crap teams as 10s.

Tulsa didn't even have a watch party for the selection show, they thought they had no shot of getting in.....lol. True story smh

Agreed....Tulsa? Also Syracuse getting in is a big question. Monmouth should be in as I think South Carolina deserved a shot as well as St Marys. I say take all the guesswork out of the equation and strictly go with RPI. That way teams know what they have to do to make the dance.

Tulsa knew they didn't belong. Hence no watch party. I thought Monmouth and the Bonnies should have got in. Mid major teams make the tourney more exciting
