Too Good To Be True (TGTBT) Sunday

I typically look at the two teams' recent records where the underdog has a poor recent record and the favorite has a recent good record.

St. John's +11 over Seton Hall
Seton Hall is 18-7 and have won 5 out of their last 6.
St. John's put together a string of 16 losses before winning their last game at DePaul.

So shouldn't this mean a bet on Seton Hall??? No! Dummy! This is too good to be true.

It's crap like this ending is the reason I don't take ML on such big spreads. With a few seconds left and a tie game, a foul was called on St. John's going after a loose ball with the Seton Hall guy swinging his elbows. Seton Hall guy makes 1 of 2 and St. John's can't make a basket on the other end.

Anyway, I'm look at 2 later games that fit this criteria. I want to see how things play out between now and then.

Utah is 4-5 on the road.

i just took USC and i was thinking the exact same thing. i said to myself, "why are they only -1.5??" so i went back and took utah. Lets go utes!

I have to admit I took a little USC -3 for a 2nd half bet. They are typically a 2nd half team. That's not looking too good right now. Maybe they'll make up some points in garbage time.

I was seriously thinking about taking Washington State. They're at home getting a lot of points. I think I'll just leave that alone.

I also tried to bet under 79 for the Utah/USC 2nd half. Then my book changes it to under 78.5 and asks if I want to bet that so I do. With less than a minute to go some dumbass USC player hits a 3 to cause the total to be 79. He could have easily just gone in for 2. I guess I can't complain. The last USC game I covered with a similar situation.

Normally I love a good home dog but washst has been brutal lately, often beat by double digits.

I got my money back by betting on the under 76.5 in the Cal game!
