friday's 1st half

hoop, don't like giving pts 1H, but really like that Mich St 1H -3.5 play. Minn matches up horribly with Mich St. Minn's strengths are defense and boards, but Mich St will have fresh legs and a significant edge on boards as one of better rebounding teams in country. Mich St also amont better teams in getting easy buckets and assists as well as at defending 3s (Minn's best offensive weapon by default). I see this being a lot like 1H of some of the Big East games where one team played with rest and the crappier team had to ply afternoon after playing prior day. this is the only side that i like in the early 3 games.

SportsChic, my book opened it at -4 and i took it. could cost you a win but won't cause you a loss. hate giving points 1H, but i like this a lot.

With the news that Lawson is a likely scratch, i wouldn't play that 1H over.

Here are my picks for 1H:

Mich St- ML just bc Minn has more on the line than anything right now, they played em twice,they know what they do.

Vt-+6 -> a little risky but NC alot of times opens slow

LSU- ML

LSU- U64

MSU doesn't look at all like themselves. they can't get a defensive rebound, and are missing way too many FTs and layups.

how's this: i like the game to go under by about a dozen, so i looked at the 1H under as a possibility and HATED it. i really like the game under, so i don't think that i'll play 1H over, but i think it's got value.

Holy Cross- +2.5 (Big Play) 4:45pm

Memphis has played Houston twice and has never beaten them by more than 6 in 1H. Houston has also gotten better while Memphis escaped an upset from TULANE :-o yesterday who were favored by 14.

Holy Cross is 1-1 against American in 1H but has spanked American before in 1H and the loss was by 1point. It will be a close 1H but the +2.5 should give them cover.
