I like Xavier..... but looks like the public is betting heavy on Ohio. My book now has the line at -14.Comment -
Yeah, I just noticed that I got too absorbed in handicapping tonight's hockey card and Ohio has fallen all the way to +14.5 from +16. I'm liking Ohio in this matchup on the simple fact that Xavier is lousy at covering the spread. They have yet to cover a spread at home, seemingly content to win by any margin.
Going back to the tournament in Puerto Rico in the second week of the season, they allow more back-door covers than the Lakers with Kobe on the bench. Sean Miller is an adequate coach, as evidenced by them being undefeated thus far, but I have no faith left in him keeping those players' intensity level high enough to accomplish a double-digit margin of victory.
I'm also seeing that Olympic and Pinny are holding firm at +15 and +16, respectively. This gives me hope for some sort of rebound in the line across the board, so I'll be keeping my eye on SBRLines to pounce on it if that does indeed take place. If anyone cares to elucidate the matchup beyond my personal experience getting burned by Xavier missing several covers by one or two points, I'd love to hear it.Originally posted by StraitShooterComment
