    The Money Maker$ Thread
I wanted to start a thread like this in at least one sport. What it should be - teams as the season progresses that you are able to win with in certain situations ...

    Examples:

*Winning X amount of Times with North Carolina as a favorite of -20 to -25 points at home.

*Cashing UNDERs with a certain team, especially ones that go under the radar.

*Cashing OVERs with a certain team, especially ones that go under the radar.

I think this can be a beneficial thread. I relate it to college football where I made a good amount of cash off Middle Tennessee State UNDERs this season. Think they went under in 7 of 10 so far, but they're a Sun Belt team that alot of folks probably don't pay attention to. Same with Utah and OVERS. Utah is a more widely recognized team because of their BCS buster status, but the OVER is 8-2 in their games, which some might not know. In any case, that's what I hope we can do in this thread for college hoops! So post any tidbits you think will be helpful to others here. Obviously you may want a bigger sample size before posting, but lend your expertise when you think it matters.

I guess it's hard to explain exactly but there seems to be a trend with certain NCAA games having inflated O/U and the public always hammers the over.

UNC/Kentucky last night is one example, the O/U was 160 and the public was 90% on the over. The game stayed under by 25.

Memphis/Umass from 2 night ago is another one, O/U was 158 and the puiblic was 90% on the over. The game stayed under by 20.

My last example and maybe the best was Memphis/Kansas last year. I don't recall the O/U exactly but I know the public was heavy on the over, the game went to O/T and still stayed under.

It seems like the public sees names like UNC, Duke, etc. and automatically plays the over. The books know this and the lines come out 10-20 points higher than they should because they know people will still blind pick the Over. I'll be keeping a closer watch this year and hopefully be cashing big when these situations come around.

UNCW and OVER this year for college BBALL... If there first 2 games is any indicator of the rest of the season this is definitely something to watch...

Nice thread! I like the idea...

Alright. Had a month now to dissect. Figure it's time to add some. As always, you do need to do research and not blindly play these:

*Houston UNDERs. Books have over-valued the Cougars ability to score and I think under-valued their defense so far. 3/4 games hit UNDER.

*UC-Irvine OVERs. 4-0 on the season in this category. Books seem to keep their totals lower because the Anteaters offense is bad, just 62 ppg. But their D is worse, giving up 83 ppg.

*TCU UNDERs. 4/5 so far this season. TCU isn't scoring alot, 65 ppg, but their D has been stout - 62 ppg against. If you can find offensively challenged opponents or an opponent with a solid D of their own, this has been a decent wager so far.

i know this is the college bball forum, but for what it's worth i've noticed one of these trends in the nba this year that has made me some good money.

          *toronto raptors over @ home

although their last two at home have gone under the total, much to my chigrin, the over was 5-0 before then, so this is a trend to definitely keep an eye on in my opinion.

Nope. Irvine & Houston are, but the totals for those two tonight are too middled for an obvious play either way.

Trends continued on Houston UNDERs tonight even with a lower total in the high 130s at game time. UC-Irvine OVER trend ... did not hit for the majority, although I did see that line drop as low as 135.5 on Carib which would have hit on the 136. Original 140 though, did not.

Trend continued easily last night. Total was 158 I think and I believe the final score had it into the high 170s. Also, the TCU UNDER trend continued with ease last night.

The worst part about that is I waited until the total came out and I said I think the trend continues and then second guessed myself and laid off. I think they were on pace for 100 points in the first half??

Yeah it was actually a 99-85 final, so 184. 100 points at half time. East Carolina might be an add to the OVERs category as well.
