Rutgers is +4 at Delaware and Creighton is -2.5 against New Mexico. (I might not play Rutgers if Inman is out)
Rutgers (+4) at Delaware
Rutgers barely got by Marist 63-61 on Friday, but Rutgers played without seniors J.R. Inman and Jaron Griffin. Freshmen Mike Rosario led Rutgers with 17 points and Greg Echenique scored 11 points to go with 15 rebounds. Echenique and N-Diaye combined for 14 of Rutger's 16 blocks. Rutger's top players all suffered from cramps in the Marist game. I wouldn't expect that to happen again and Delaware will have a tough time scoring inside on Rutger's stingy interior defense. Another reason for such a terrible first game was shooting 23% from behind the arc and only 53% from the line. Bank on Rutgers being too talented for a tough Delaware team.
New Mexico at Creighton (-2.5)
New Mexico provided a 102-59 beating against Southeast Missouri State in their season opener. Creighton will be one of the top mid-majors this year according to many sources. They return 3 starters from a very good team last year. The Missouri Valley Conference takes a lot of pride in playing tough, especially at home and I don't think New Mexico can come to the midwest and pull out a tough win against a solid Creighton team. This isn't really a statistic play. The only talented player Creighton lost last year was Dane Watts, but the combination of leading scorer P'Allen Stinnett and center Kenny Lawson Jr. will make it awful tough for New Mexico to leave with a win. I might consider playing Creighton ML, becuase Creighton does have a tendency to win a lot of 1 and 2 point games.
