So normally I only play verticals when I can key a horse or 2, but I don’t even top choices in these


I think if you did Ex Box’s with those numbers you’d turn a nice profit


It’s just not my typical wagering style

Gotta see conditions and changes of course but will be playing 2 Rolling Pick 3’s (5-7 / 8-10) & Late Pick 4

Race 1

So look, zero chance im playing the Chad Brown/Javy chalk #3 Teachable Moment (5/2)... This one has been swallowing money by the mouthful and Chad Brown continues to free fall this horse. From 75k Mdn to 75 ** to now 40K **. That is not encouraging to me and even though this horse showed promise last year here placing in a 85k Mdn event, has not looked the same since. Also that was an Off the Turf race, and i except turf to be on here. Coming off the shelf again in this spot, just is a negative sign imo. 180k purchase and lightly raced (4 races) 3 year old can be yours for 40k tomorrow afternoon. Of course can win here, as this field is nothing to write home about but not for my money at that price. Complete toss for me.

With that thought process, Im obv going to stretch out and try to find a bomb...

The #2 Horse Azzedine was a 336.5K purchase and has been borderline abused the last few months. Ran twice in MAY and 4 TIMES IN JUNE!!! (Beaten by 19, 12, 8.5, & 10) Then ran again first week of JULY, so believe it or not 3 weeks off is REST for this 5 year old. Heman Harkie only has 2 mounts (Opener & Finale) and I made a sneaky score with him late in the Belmont meet. This one actually took a little money last out on the shortening to 6f and has some sneaky early speed, for this 5.5 furlong sprint. His best efforts on Turf fit here. The shorter the better for this longshot play, but @ 30/1 Im more intrigued than backing that Chad Brown Chalk.

#4 Binary , This one is 0-5 lifetime beaten by a combined 97.5 lengths. This is spot where this 200k is making a huge drop to the bottom, that makes sense. 3rd off the bench, and should like the shortening distance. Chris Landeros is quietly having a nice little meet (20-2-2-2) and another 30/1 that wouldn't shock me.

#11 I'm Looking Up , Dallas Stewart Sighting intrigued me right off the bat. When he put this one on the sod @ this distance last out, I think they found something. Enough so they decide to ship in from Kentucky for this heat. Sharp work since being here, dropping in class, & pilot upgrade to Tyler. Lots of signs of improvement coming here , & 8/1 offers plenty of value for me. Also gives me a more sensible play in my Early Horizontal Wager , so im not completely nuts w/ the 30/1 bombs...

#1 Rapido Gatta

Well I needed a single somewhere lol, and after fading the 4 time eclipse winner in the opener, I'll go right to Javy in this one for Mr. Englehart. This one is coming off b2b Layoffs and looking at the rest of the field, seems to fit well, if anywhere close to ready. JE will have this one fresh and ready imo. 5 outta the 7 trainers in this race do not have a win @ the meet. Clement is the other one but him with a firster on dirt? Yeah that's not his style, so with the combo of fading the field, I feel pretty confident in singling this one.

#3 Soul P Say, This one is simple, Loaded with speed and Kendrick gets the nod. Trying the grass first time first off the claim for Leah who is 20% when doing just that. Tipping her hand going to w/ KC but this one been claimed 3 times in last 3 races and its clear why. If can get the front could steal it. Who better than Carmouche to do just that. @ 12/1 I'd be breaking things if this one crosses the wire first and I didn't include.

#7 Shekky Shebaz, @ 15/1 this one is my top choice. This 5k purchase has already earned 6 figures. Preqsue Isle Shipper (Poly Track) has been working excellent and is 3rd off the pine. Coming fresh outta 100k race, Putting 2 bullets since. Oh by the way, leading jock takes the reins who actually road this horse in Pid @ a 40k Handicapp to his highest speed figure to date, finishing 2nd. This Shipper is being overlooked.

#10 Sir Balantine, Using all DD prices here, as this is 10/1. Bruce Brown turning this one around first off the claim for Mr. Gargan's Barn. Jockey DD finally broke the ice getting his first win today in a DQ but irad had to come down, it was clear as day, and Dylan deserved the win. 3 back this one ran in a G1 race. Just ran a week ago , which is encouraging for this surface switch and move up in class. Looks like needed that first one off the layoff and should be much improved 2nd time out. Ran a 79 Beyer in that one but had been consistently in the 90's before that.

#1 C.C. Rider (12/1) , Confident hike up in class by Matz, who has choose to try and repeat by going back to the green. Johnny V sticks around off the layoff. 5/8 in the money and has been shipped to 5/6 different tracks. Lots of things to like here at this price.
#8 Westerland (15/1) , This recent gelding needs the right setup to make noise 8 months off the shelf, but has some back class and first 3 races in the states where in NY and had some decent running lines. They took this one off the grass and shipped to KY and clearly did not take to the dirt. Not sure what they were thinking with this breeding overseas GB Horse anyway. Anyway Kiran has a sneaky placement here and don't be surprised is this one is flying late to get over the line first.
