    Light The Lamp: 11.2
Is this the beginning of the losing streak? Could be. Waiting for it. Lost the last one, so LTL is 8-4 now. Check yo-self before you riggidy-wreck-yo-self.

    Red Wings/Canucks OVER 5.5 (-105 Bookmaker)
The only thing better than catching some tasty waves with Jeff Spiccoli ... catching a tasty price on what looks like a solid shot at the over. Combined, Detroit and Vancouver have gone over in 17 of their 22 games. I ain't no math major, but that seems like a pretty high percentage. They met once this year already and that ended with 7 goals (shootout). The Wings have seen their totals hit at least 6 in 8 straight with their offense and defense both helping this streak. The offense was held to two goals against San Jose last time out, but prior to that had not scored less than 3 goals in 10 straight. The D has yielded at least 3 goals in 8 straight with the PK unit being a good culprit for that. Detroit's PK-ers have given up a PP goal in 6 straight. Offensively, the PP unit for Detroit has tallied a score in 8 of the last 10 and the team continues to pound out shots - usually landing in the upper 30s or more in shots on goal. Pure volume is great in helping the OVERs. The Canucks had shown perhaps that their goaltending/defense was getting better by allowing just 1 goal against LA & BOS, but then saw 6 let in vs. Anaheim. The PK unit for Vancouver could be blamed heavily there as the Ducks quacked up that unit for 3 PP goals in 9 tries. Vancouver's own PP unit has been solid in the last 4 games with multiple PP goals in 3 of the last 4. Both Luongo & Osgood have good lifetime numbers against tonight's opposition, but that didn't seem to matter in this season's first match-up ... so don't be scared! Earn your Wings tonight and watch the goals light the lamp OVERs style!
