Radulov is a (the) superstar in the KHL. He's their Crosby. 9M/year is completely reasonable for him. You have to keep in mind that they are trying to increase the quality of their league to rival the NHL so they are not just paying for his on ice abilities. He means the world to that entire league, not just CSKA.

He's already been (multiple?) league MVP and playoff MVP etc. He's the best player in the KHL bar none and is actually one of the best in the NHL as well. For example, Semin in the KHL would get maybe 5M or 6M taxfree; he doesn't have nearly the star power that Radulov holds in that country.

Terrible deal again by Tampa. I sound like a broken record but 5.5/year for Matt Carle is just awful. I guess this is why players try so hard to reach UFA, they get massively overpaid by desperate teams.

This has been the worst summer for over-paying guys.

Carle is not worth anywhere near 5.5 a year. 2.5 or 3 maybe but this is what it's coming down to these days. A lot of these teams are gonna be severely fcuked if anything happens to their big guns.

Parise has only gotten over 80 points twice in his 6 full seasons. Suter isn't worth that much either. They really need to put an end to these massive front loaded contracts. It's getting ridiculous.
