#15are ones that have played several years already, high percentage are in the twilight of their career, have a family that they don't want to uproot, haven't wasted their money foolishly like so many pro athletes do and thus have lots saved up.

#28Didn't understand what anaheim did, trading Visnovsky then taking player in round 1 they could've traded down to take. Also sounds like Bobby Ryan done thereComment -

#29Apparently Crosby sat with Parise's family in a suite for multiple games during cup finals, rumors are they want to play together. Shero now has almost 15 mil to play with, would be nice but scoring is not the problem, i'd like to see Suter in a pens uniform first...Comment -

#30Some random thoughts on the draft, only seen some of these kids and not very many times for the ones I've seen.
Yakupov is a potential gamebreaking offensive talent in the making but Oilers should have used the pick as an asset to parlay into 2 solid NHL level defensemen. Or at least an NHL ready young telent and a projected 20 minute upper level prospect. Something along the lines of Gormley + Morris, though not as sexy on the surface as Yakupov, would have improved the Oilers much more this offseason than Nail. But who knows, trades like that might not have been available at all so who's to judge.
Ryan Murray looks a lot like a left handed, slightly smaller and most importantly, unpolished, Alex Pietrangelo. If he develops into a similar level talent, this could very well be the pick that finally turns Columbus around. He won't put up big point totals so people will label him a bust, but if you watch Columbus' point totals and win totals, that's where you'll notice his impact.
Matt Dumba is a defenceman who was hyped as a top 3 pick at multiple points during the year but is undersized for the kind of game he plays and justifiably dropped. He plays a lot like Phaneuf did his rookie season with Calgary, but he's barely 6 feet, though he's decently thick. I just don't see him being able to have an impact playing a defensively suspect game at the NHL level constantly getting out of position taking runs at center ice.
First goalie taken, the Russian Vasilevski, looks to me like he has at least starter potential down the road. To me, he looks like he has true star potential. He's big but also so athletic, quick side to side and quick to his feet. On top of that he has excellent fundamentals. Obviously with a goalie, he's at least 5 years away from the NHL but I would be shocked if this kid doesn't become a star goalie in the league.
Griffin Reinhart has the bloodlines and the name, along with good size, but I'm not terribly impressed with him. As an Oil King, I've seen him live the most out of all of them but he just doesn't have enough of an impact for me. For a top 5 pick and with that size in junior, he should be dominating on the ice but he's outshined every night by his teammate Pysyk at least, though he's a first rounder himself.Comment -
