As I have done for the last couple years I will be running another Playoffs Predictions Contest. A lot of you are familiar with the rules but for those who are not here is the breakdown:
1. 50 point buy in.
2. Pick the outcome of every series, each round.
3. Pick the correct amount of games the series will go.
4. Pick your East and West champions before the start of Round 1.
5. Pick your Stanley Cup Champion before the start of Round 1.
-You will earn 3 points per correct team in each series, with a 1 point exact games bonus. This bonus is only achieved if you have the correct series winner.
-You will earn 5 points per correct East and West champion.
-You will earn 10 points for the correct Stanley Cup champion.
Here are a couple examples below.
Ex:
(1) NYR vs (8) OTT
Prediction: NYR in 6
Result: NYR 4 OTT 0
Points Awarded: 3
(2) BOS vs (7) WAS
Prediction: WAS in 7
Result: WAS 4 BOS 3
Points Awarded: 4
(3) FLA vs (6) NJ
Prediction: NJ in 6
Result: FLA 4 NJ 2
Points Awarded: 0
You will pick again before the start of the 2nd and 3rd rounds and the Cup finals. Don't forget! Your East and West and Cup Champs picks must be done before the start of the 1st round.
Anyways this is always a lot of fun and adds an extra element of excitement for the post-season. How many entrants paid will be dependent on how many people join. So if you want in just send me 50 points in this first post.
Playoffs start Wednesday so make sure to have your picks in before 4:30 PM PST of that day.
PROS: Just pay up your 50 in this 1st post here and you're in.
NON-PROS: It will take 25 days for you guys to pay up your entry fee so I'm limiting non-pros to 5 in this contest to limit my risk/work keep tracking of payments. Once the limit of 5 non-pros sign up you guys can always get loans from the SBR Points forum and just get them to pay me directly to cover your buy in and you can deal with the amount owed with them if you want.
If you forget to make your picks at any time I will give you the favorites to win in 4. This is fair I think as you are punished for forgetting by being given the favorite to win in 4 which is the least likely outcome for duration.
