Why would you ever lay big chalk in the NHL?

I played four games today and so far three of them have gone to overtime and the final game is tied.

I had Columbus. They won in a shootout.
I had Carolina. They lost in overtime.
I had Ottawa. They won in overtime.

I currently have the Islanders and they are tied 3-3. So out of my four underdog plays, 3 out 4 have gone to OT and the other looks like it's headed that way.

By being selected taking dogs, you only have to hit .500 to make profit. These games are all so close why not pick your spots and take teams at + money?

NHL odds are so far off sometimes it's a joke. If you really know this sport you can do some serious damage to these books. Can't believe Ottawa won in Buffalo tonight, that almost never happens.
