    Grand Salami Thread
Ok I have had success betting the Grand Salami this season and thought I will start tracking them...I have only posted 1 documented play so I will start my record at 1-0. Fade or Fail at own risk.

    Tonight:

    Under 60 goals (-120)

Interested to see how this goes for you. I don't think I have ever bet the Grand Salami once.

Under's on a nice little run. 7-1 L8. Scoring is definitely down at the moment.

The Grand Salami largely depends on your book's lines. Books can differ on the GS by as much as 5 goals. And there will be a lot of nights where you lose/win by 1-2 goals.

I'm using scoresandodds for my lines which is the same as most books. No real book differs on the GS by 5 goals from another real book. Not even remotely close.

Oh, I've just been comparing the numbers I get from Pinnacle to the ones posted on vegasinsider's grand salami articles and I saw a day where it differed by 5. Haven't been looking at actual books other than Pinnacle for GS lines though so I guess I'll take your word for it.

My point still stands though. You said the Under was 7-1 on the L8 before last night, for Pinnacle lines it was 5-3. So it really depends on the line you can get.

You still have access to past pinnacle lines? The only ones in question L8 would be on 10/22 where 77 goals were scored on a 77.5 line and 10/17 where 28 were scored on a 28.5 line. I have a hard time believing both those lines were at least a full goal less at Pinnacle. Especially on 10/17. Can you point me in the direction to these lines?

No, I've been tracking them personally. But I see where we differed on now. I included the days where only 1 game was played (in which cases I put the GS as the game's total).

                        Sorry about that.

Oh, gotcha. Ya, there shouldn't be a line for those days.

                            Overall record: 1-1 (-.2) Lines (Away Goals +110/Home Goals -130) & (O/U 22.5)

I don't see much value in the Salami plays tonight. Was looking at a play for Away goals (Value with Chicago and St. Louis) but Colorado at home scares me enough to not play it. With such a small amount of games a 2/3 goal win for Colorado could easily lose the bet.

Split with over/under with 2 games I think going over (SJ and Chicago) and 2 games going under (Edmonton/St. Louis). Not enough value to take either Salami plays.

*Note I am not suggesting taking any of these plays individually. With Salami betting you have to use individual leans to find value on 1 side. Tonight there is not enough leans on one side to warrant a play.

I usually stay away from the "Over" when there are 5+ games on the card. The "Over/Under" Salami is usually set at an average of 5.5 goals per game so when we have 5+ games on the same night unders carry alot more value.

Logic: "Overs" will usually hit right over the posted total of (5/5.5) for example yesterday we had 3 games go over (7, 6, 7); while unders could range anywhere between 1-5 goals. It becomes really tough to make up for any games that score 3 or less goals because 8+ goals will be needed to get us back to that average of 5.5 goals per game. With 5+ games I would need a lean of 65%-75% games going over to ensure making up the difference of any games that fall way short of the average 5.5 goals.

The "Over" Salami has hit once this season when featuring more than 5-7 games on the same night and that was when Phil/Jets went off for 17 goals combined. Just something to keep in mind but I look forward to seeing your plays.
