Apologize in advance if this is a dumb question. Regarding your Hurricane pick, @ 5Dimes my choices are:

1. ML +168 (first 60 min.) or
2. Hurricanes -.5 +243 (first 60 min).

As overtime is a loss in a 3way line, why would anyone take the first option 1? Probably missing something here, just don't see it. Appreciate all responses.

Betting the ML (first 60 mins) will give you a push if the game goes to overtime.

If you bet the -0.5 (first 60 mins) then as you say, you lose if the game goes to overtime.

The way I understand it, first 60 mins is the same as a 3 way line; all ties are losses. Is the 60 min ML option not under this umbrella, so to speak? That would make sense, as the difference in odds is dramatic. Thanks.

5dimes only quote 2 way moneyline - that is you can only bet on home or away. (tie = push).

Some sportsbooks do quote 3 way lines - home, away and tie

#1. Crosby returns - huge boost for the Pitt even if it's just emotional.
#2. Letang might return tonight too - another boost of confidence for Pitt, especially for the defense.

But hey, it's the Rangers - those boys have been hard to beat whether it's on the road, at home, injuries, or back to back. Just seems like they make it happen and win. Guess that's why they lead the Eastern Conference by 6 pts over Pitt.

Have to be honest - not sure i'd bet on this one simply because it could go either way. I'd rather try to find a bigger mis-match.

Spent so much time on the coll hoops i'm still filtering the NHL plays - looking hard at Boston and San Jose.

I hear you, but as a Pens fan I naturally think the Rangers are over-rated and missing some key players. With Sid and (possibly) Letang back this should be a great game for the Pens. I think A LOT of Pens fans will make it to the Garden tonight and that will only add to the emotional boost they are already getting. I'm all over the Pens tonight.

Also like Boston, and I think there's a lot less value in the O5.5 Tampa play than a lot of others are thinking. What are you thinking for the Sharks? ML? Reg?

Seeing the Sharks -120 so ML is good for me. Considering the 3way we'll see.

As for the TB over play - head to head the over is 4-1 in last 5. Both teams score a lot thought so it seems right.
