He was outstanding last night. 54 saves and many were outstanding. Sharks showed a lot of pride. I figured they would just basically mail it in. If if weren't for Luongo, we would be seeing game 6 Thursday in San Jose no doubt about it. Sharks were the better team for most of the game.

Yes I was because the Hawks own him. The Hawks were so far in his head he was pretty well in the movie Inception. He has been great ever since that Chicago series just as I said he would be if he got past the Hawks.

Up until this season, how far in the playoffs have they been?

He has to win a Cup before he is considered a great goaltender. Just my opinion, nothing more.

Also, they way Canucks fans were dumping on the guy in the Blackhawk series and now are singing his praises like he is great and has sick stats as someone put it, seems slightly hypocritical to me.

A goalie doesn't do it alone. You have a shitty team in front of you and you will not have a good GAA.

The Goaltender in hockey is the most important position arguably in all of sports. Great Goaltenders steal games all the time when their team is being outplayed or they have shitty teams.

He wasn't that great in the Olympics either, was shaky in the Gold medal game from what I remember.

Do you hold him in the same regard as Brodeur, or Roy? I don't.

Still think he sucks, he can have his moments from time to time, but overall their are better goaltenders out there with better playoff histories.

If that makes me a hater, so be it.

Don't use the olympics as a staple, he had 6 of the best d man in the world infront of him and almost blew it twice.

I don't think he sucks, i don't think he's as solid as everyone thinks. The canucks have never been down yet, I wonder what will happen if they lose gm 1... The headcase will emerge ..

Canucks were out played last 2 games but that is what a great goalie is supposed to do, win a game when you are being outplayed. He did that. He came up huge when they needed him. It's hard to outplay a team every game and sweep then 4-0.

He is one of the best goalies in the world.

Im not sold on Luongo.

I have been saying he is a choke artist for years, and I still believe that to be true.

There are many goalies in this league that can play at a high level for a fraction of Luongo's salary.

best goalie ive seen in my lifetime was domonic hasek followed closely by patrick roy....

martin broduer was very good and has the playoff stats but hes not in the same league as these two ...

and id say as a netminder luongo is close to if not slightly better than broduers ability

im trying to think if i had an nhl team is there a goalie in the league right now that i would take as my starter over luongo and honestly nobody springs to mind

and ryan miller from buffalo

but interestingly enough canucks and therefore luongo bounced nashville in the second round this yr... does that make rinne a choke arstist?? (NO)

oh and miller has a Ag medal from the olympics not the Au medal that luongo wears so perhaps miller sucks in big games as well.....

you can be the best goalie in the world but without the quality in front of you it wont matter

Luckily it's a team game and Luongo meshes well enough to come through with the victory more often than not. He looks shaky as a leaf though recently-you'd think even with the pressure, etc he'd be having a whale of a time. I guess Lou is in the conversation of top tenders but certainly doesn't get the respect.

Luongo was a wall in that crease.
How many times did the Bruins crash the net and Luongo smothers the puck-many many times!!!

Boston can't get it in on a 4 minute penalty, and a 5 on 3.
That's where Luongo just demoralized that team.
Luongo was bigger than the game itself, last night.

Honestly, Vancouver's defense has to play better than that, or Boston is gonna steal game 2.
