Crazy game 6 at the Joe

I didn't really know what to expect in that game with Franzen out for the Wings, but they still managed to play a fast physical hockey. The Sharks could not keep up. The Wings out shot the Sharks 45-25 (1st period 18-6; 2nd period 14-7; 3rd 13-12). They had constant pressure on Niemi.

I'm feeling the Wings are going to take it at the shark tank tomorrow:
- Frazen will most likely stay out of the lineup for the Wings. This increases the speed of the Wing's attack. Even if he is back in the lineup, this will indicate they are 100%.
- Sharks proved last night they can't play without Clowe (who gave the Sharks a physical presence on the ice). Since Clowe didn't even travel with the team to Detroit for team 6, I don't expect him to be 100% come game time.
- Anti Niemi made 43-45 saves last night. Some thought had to have crossed his mind about his team's terrible performance. If Niemi has the same performance as last night, I will bow down to him.
- Sharks are prone to choke.
- I don't expect Marleau to play at the caliber he's capable of.

I'm taking the Wings on this one.

san jose d was out to lunch lastnight, i think 'roit wins this one. but i'm feelin the under more than a side right now. reasons is the same for lastnights game, its do or die and both teams will keep the play tight

it all comes down to niemi IMO. If he plays like he did last night, sharks could squeek it out. Otherwise, Detroit moves on!!!

Of course Sharks are favored, they were favored to win the series because of home ice advantage. That does not mean they will win though.

exactly. betting the sharks in big game situations is never a great idea.

dont even watch much hockey, few blues games throughout the year and a few playoff games, obviously dont really bet it much but have been on det every game since they went down 3-0, after the 1st one it was easy to go again, then again, now one more time..ive heard sj has made a lot of changes but to me they the same chokers as always, they dont got the heart to eliminate det.........

if it makes you feel better i didnt touch chi/van series. do you really think it matters who is on what in this game? will that effect the outcome? im sure in the end the books will be ok regardless of who wins.

yea i dont wanna be so square, but ive been telling anyone that'll listen that Game 5 decided the series, Detroit wouldn't lose at home with its back against the wall; and if they forced a game 7 it was the wings series to lose..

Hawks/Canucks game 7 ended in OT. Hawks did have the momentum at they end by forcing it to OT, but they couldn't clear the puck out of the zone. given they did lose. it was still one hell of a game.

the sharks/wings will not be a blow out. it will be fast hockey, backchecking/forchecking every play. expect a great game, just like the hawks/canucks.

weird line....I think the factors including SJ at home and 3-3 means that I'm not surprised that SJ is the fav. I'm taking red wings but IMO this is a 50/50 game...

how can you say they outplayed detroit at all?? everything was pretty much even locked the entire game besides the amount of shots on goal where detroit dominated 45-25 shots on goal. If it wasnt for Nimei having a ridiculous game, which if detroit shoots like that again, detroit would have blown them out.

Momentum clearly on wings side but home ice has to mean something in a game 7 I would think. My gut tells me the wings are the play. Perhaps the puckline might be worth considering on Detroit but the juice will likely high. Thinking under 5.5 is also worth considering as game 7's are fairly tight contests also. Good luck in your wagers.

Im going VERY small on the wings. As a fan these games been heart stopping as it is so dont want to break the wallet as well if they lose.
