The Sharks defeated Detroit in five games a year ago in the second round and need to tighten up their overall play if they expect to advance at the Wings expense again. The Sharks simply can’t allow Detroit to grab early leads because the Red Wings will keep on scoring. San Jose is probably more reliant on their ability to score more than most teams and the numbers bare that out. They are a staggering 16-1 in the playoffs when lighting the lamp three times or more and a dismal 4-19 when managing two goals or less. I don’t know if either team can control the offense of the other right now and I think we’ll see plenty of scoring in this one.
