So, I had been keeping track of my picks covers.com/postingforum/post01/showmessage.aspx?spt=23&sub=101032754 but decided to move my thread over here to SBR. There was no discussion going on at Covers.com and hopefully some people will weigh in with their picks in this thread as well. You just need to keep track of your record and units won/lost if you are going to post your plays.

A good game there by San Jose. Still can't believe LA didn't score on the 5 min power play to end the game and start OT, but I'll take the two Ws

I am not really liking anything for tonight. I think the Boston/Montreal game is a total toss up and could see it going either way. I would lean Boston, but won't be playing it. I think I will just sit back and watch my two series bets that are in game 7 tonight and root for Philly and Chicago.

Another series win with Philly last night and Chicago almost pulled it out. Someone please fill me in but did Vancouver win the cup last night? Sure looked like they did the way they were celebrating. Relax boys, it was just the first round. It isn't going to get any easier with Nashville in round 2.

Who are you guys betting tonight? I think I need some action on this Boston/Montreal game, but I am not sure which side to take. Boston because they are at home? Is Lucic playing this game?

Here are my plays for the Van/Nsh game tonight. I'm looking for a low scoring first period, especially first ten minutes as both teams try to feel each other out and focus on good defensive hockey. I think there is some value on Nashville at +170 as Vancouver might let up a bit in this first game.

I am taking the Wings tonight and expect the bounces to even out a little. Both of San Jose's game winners were deflected off of Red Wings' sticks. Also, I think Babcock splitting up Zetterberg and Datsyuk will help give Detroit a more balanced attack. Look for Draper to bring some energy on the 4th line with Helm and Eaves and possibly draw some power plays for Detroit.

Lost the Nashville series bet. I was really hoping for game 7 sound I could have hedged that one, but oh well. They made it close.

I'm taking Detroit at home tonight at -133. I think Clowe being out of the lineup is a pretty big blow to San Jose while the Wings get to insert Modano for Franzen. Franzen is obviously the better player but has not really done much in this series so it is sort of like Detroit hasn't been playing with him already. Modano played decently the one game he got in against Phoenix, so I'm hoping for a few good shifts out of him.

Good series...bad ending. Really could have used a power play goal from Detroit and for Zetterberg to not cough up the puck at the end of the first.

The two conference finals should be good series though. I'm leaning Vancouver and Boston right now. Need to think a little more about it before I place some series bets thought.
