What % chance do you give Bos/Mon going to OT today?
And if it does, who do you favor? Boston significantly?

Maybe 10% at best. IMO this one wins in regulation. I favour Boston but I wouldn't risk any money on them. They burned a lot of people last year.

Reason I am inquiring has to do with decision to play:

      Boston -200, or

      Boston -.5 -116

Odds are giving Boston 67% chance for the win, or 54% to win in regulation.

Looks like they played 1 ot game against each other this year out of 7.

About 17% of Burin games hit OT this year.

Anyone know league and playoff average?

13% discrepancy just seems high, but at +310 for the draw, books are only giving you 24% chance of a draw? So that would makes sense.

But maybe that, coupled with Habs run last year and game 1 creates a situation where Boston is actually undervalued in this spot.

I honestly dont follow Regular season hockey, but every playoffs seem to be watching and betting.

Number wise, Boston appears to be one of the better teams in NHL. Is that misleading? Is team on decline from earlier in year? Montreal streaking? Injuries? I hear Chara is probably out. What effect does that have on game? And is that in line? I assume so.

Boston is one of the best teams in the NHL, but the playoffs change everything. Nobody, and I mean nobody, gave the bottom-seeded Flyers a chance against them last year, and we all know how that one panned out...

If Chara doesnt play today thats a huge loss... Hes their captain as well as their most valuable player. Their PP and PK ability will take a big hit without him, and the team just becomes a lot easier to play against. Seriously, I wouldnt touch a Chara-less Bruins with a 10-foot pole. Great value on the Canadiens in that spot.

Cant seem to find update on Chara. As of this morning, he was a go until doctors say otherwise, but who knows.

So Chara is listed as "will play Sat vs. MON" on Covers-for whatever that's worth. I wonder if he had the flu or some similar physical ailment or (and this is my bet) his feelings got hurt from last game and he pulled a Jay Cutler. Even though Price and MON were super game one I think BOS gets the reg. time win today. As for the OT wager, statistically I believe about 23 percent of games through a given hockey year end in OT/SO. Good luck

Chara is playing, just said on wings game. Have to think this game is low scoring, so OT game is very possible

the way the price is playing any game that goes to ot will be 0-0, montreal shouldn't think they are at home they can easily win , but in every sports from boxing to hockey speed beats size, like the great muhammad ali said you can't hit what you can't catch, when he fought foreman
