One thing I dont understand is how a game goes from -140 to -210 just because they "have to win"
Do books assume the opposing team will just lay down and give up a W?
Tampa, Detroit, and Minnesota all have come out playing hard, and all of them had nothing to play for.
What is the reason to move the line 70 cents, ill tell you why. Its to get all the suckers to bet on the favorite thinking its a lock and the only one who wins are the books.

I guess all us suckers are learning the hard way. I'd assume a lot of people that don't follow hockey (like me) are seeing these scenarios and unloading. It works in the NBA and NFL. The team that has to win almost always wins and wins easily. The other team usually just rests their starters and give up, or if it's an eliminated team like Minnesota they just play a bunch of scrub players and get blown out.
