#5Cannot believe you people didn't learn from last night with the Carolina/Tampa game. Detroit would love nothing more then to play spoiler and put the Blackhawks playoff hopes in the hands off a Dallas Stars win tonight. The play has to be either Detroit or NO PLAY! Don't back the team that has a "must win game" at home, look what happened last night.Comment -

#7Especially since Chicago only needs one point to clinch a playoff spot. If youre on the Hawks and it goes to OT I'd hedge your bet

#8No this is a different story. Detroit doesnt have the high end scorers Tampa do have. Im not going totaly against you though, Chicago can be one hell of a good team, but anyone who has played sports know what pressure can do with you. And Chi only needs 1p to be safe so a X is enough. I had the guts to stay away from the Carolina game yday and im most likely going to do the same here. I would rather play U5.5 in this game tbh, even though Howard is really bad when he doesnt have a good day.Originally posted by D3 Mighty DucksCannot believe you people didn't learn from last night with the Carolina/Tampa game. So U5.5 and the game goes to OT.Comment -

#18Lol, the red wings have their ticket to the dance already, Chicago doesn't. If you think the NHL is going to let the defending champs and the 2nd or 3rd biggest media market or some shit miss the dance you are crazy. There aren't any coincidences and with millions of dollars on the line the NHL isn't going to leave this game to chance, they aren't stupid. If Chicago gets behind on their own look for the refs to make some cheap calls on Detroit to let Chicago at the very least get this game to OT so they can secure their point and punch their ticket. Chicago will not lose this game in regulation. I will quit watching hockey if I'm not right. I'm an unbiased fan of the NHL and root for neither team playing in this game. That's my analysis. These 2 are a potential match up down the road in the playoffs equaling $ and ratings for the NHL which lacks behind the NFL and MLB in that regard.Comment -

#20Easywinner, this is the fukking NHL, not the NBA. I can legit say this is league is 100% not fixed. Refs don't screw up games like an NBA ref might do. Detroit wants to play spoiler and knock off the defending champs. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Chicago loses. All that "NHL won't let the defending champs miss the playoffs" is just a stupid analogy.Comment -

#21Mighty Ducks, then i hope for your sake that Chicago goes down 2-0 in this game so you can watch it happen. I don't discount your loyalty to the NHL at all in fact i admire it and respect it, for i used to be the same way. Then i bumped elbows with the wrong person and next thing i know i can't be a traditional fan anymore because situations like this are far too easy for me to spot now.Comment -

#22Well Detroit is up 2-1 right now and nothing sketchy has taken place thus far. Maybe in the third is when the refs might get involved? I highly doubt it though, this league is not corrupt. The better team, 9 times out of 10, gets the two points in the NHL (shootout is a stupid idea and its just fluke once it gets to that point). Both teams are getting their chances and the score is reflecting upon that. One goal game with the second period coming to an end. Third period is going to be a good one to watch...Comment -

#24I guess you missed the 4 blown calls by the refs already then. Maybe you just watch the games with less bias and you would understand. Detroit has been screwed out of 4 pp's so far by my count and the 1 goal Chicago scored was via a blown call, a trip to the Detroit player not called led to the shooter being wide open in the slot. The announcers even said aww that was a missed call there... lol. I guess a high stick with blood drawn on Franzen isn't 4 in the box for the Chicago D man this game either huh...? Detroit has obviously been the better team all game but yet they hold the slimmest of leads.Originally posted by D3 Mighty Ducksnothing sketchy has taken place thus far.

#25Refs did all they could for Chicago, Detroit was just fresher and better. 3 Chicago PP's including 1 with less than 3 minutes left in the game and 0 for Detroit plus 4 blown calls including a 4 minute high stick on Chicago not called. No way the NHL let's Chicago miss out. Dallas will lose tonight or win in a shootout whatever the fine print is on that. They are using the back door option on us to get us to watch the other game tonight.
