Couldn't wait to start capping some Tuesday night games so these are my leans as of now:

Islanders/Thrashers Over 5.5 -117

Bruins ML +106 (dropped 5 cents over night)

Panthers ML +114 (dropped 6 cents over night)

Flyers/Lightning 1stP Over 1.5 (no line yet on my book)

Capitals Reg. -0.5 -103

Stars ML -107 (increased 3 cents over night)

Just curious D3, do u look at line movements in hockey. Many believe is not that important in hockey. What do u make of the NYI line, drop from 177 to 163 while ATL drop from -193 to -175 @ pinny? Tks in advance.

I think ignoring line movement in any sports is a bad idea but if you don't think its as important in hockey then thats just your capping style. I however do take it into consideration when betting ML, PL, and Regulation bets but not so much Totals. I have to say I don't quite understand why the Islanders price dropped 16 cents over night but my guess would be its just the public trying to take the biggest underdog on the board the first night back and trying to cash on it. I'd advise you to keep an eye out for this line movement. I had a lean on the Over 5.5 in this game and if the Islanders were to win this game we would probably have our share of some goals in this game. The Thrashers average almost 3 goals/game at home and the Islanders give up roughly just over 3 goals/game on the road.

2. Flyers @ Lightning: 1P Under 1.5 +107 (1.0 to win 1.07)

3. Blackhawks @ Jackets: Over 5.5 +107 (1.0 to win 1.07)

4. Penguins @ Rangers: Rangers TT Over 2.5 -115 (1.15 to win 1.0)

5. Flames @ Predators: Predators ML -129 (1.29 to win 1.0)

Looking into a couple more plays for tonight but waiting for the best price. Will be keeping an eye out for line movement and will be back later to post them if I decide to make them plays.

Going to have to earn my respect around here in the NHL Forum and it starts tonight

tks for info. It's interesting that the line on NYI keeps dropping, yet the over has actually come down a little, from -120 to -116. What do u make of that?

Not to sure what to make out of both those line movements. Like I said my guess would be the public is pounding the Isles because they are the biggest Underdog today. Also the way the Thrashers were playing going into the break I guess there is some serious value on the Islanders but I'll pass. I mentioned if the Islanders were to make a game out of this and end up pulling out the W then I'd put my money on the Over 5.5 rather then the Under. Just my 2 cents but I won't have a play on this game at all.

P.S. Gin and tonic go together like Peanut butter and jelly. One of my favorite mixed drinks

Looking at these line movements, i think I will be a close game and with Atl winning by one goal. I'm gonna risk 1 unit on ATL ml and NYI pl since the odds are very similar. Basically, I'm risking .75units to win 2units. This may seem stupid, but I really think it will be like 2-3 type of game in favor of ATL. NYI had three games where the opening line was +177 ( since last year), they turned out to be one goal lost. So, I'll take my chances. GL to you tonight, ur insight on the over/under helped alot. Tks again.

I like it as well. Feel good about the 2 starting goalies and I don't think we'll see the same type of first 20 minutes like we did last time these two met in Philly. Wouldn't be surprised if we see a 0-0 first period but the odds are stacked against me.

It was a good theory and worth a shot I'd give you that. Didn't have a play on that game so didn't even watch a minute of it. I'll catch the highlights later tonight but what was up with the Thrashers? Guess they didn't show up tonight and public cashed big time on the Isles.

Made a few bucks betting Overs in the Canucks' games previous to the All Star break. Was on the Over 5.5 yesterday but lost by the hook. Going to roll the dice on the Over 5.5 again tonight in Phoenix.
