    Help with ESPN statistic categories
NHL Box Scores from ESPN (example) have the following stat categories for skaters:

    G - GOALS
    A - ASSISTS
    +/- PLAYER PLUS MINUS RATING
    SOG - SHOTS ON GOAL
    MS - MISSED SHOTS
BS - BLOCKED SHOTS (Defensive I assume)
    PN - PENALTIES
    PIM - PENALTIES IN MINUTES
    HT - HITS
TK - TAKEAWAYS (Defensive stolen passes)
GV - GIVEAWAYS (Offensive passes that were intercepted)
    SHF - SHIFTS
TOT - TOTAL TIME ON ICE
PP - POWER PLAY TIME ON ICE
    SH - ???
    EV - ???
    FW - FACEOFFS WON
    FL - FACEOFFS LOST
    % - FACEOFF PERCENTAGE

Could you tell me if my deciphering is correct? Could not find definitions for these anywhere.

ESPN seems to have the most player statistics in their box scores (compared to Yahoo and Covers) but if you know of another website with comprehensive, accurate skater stats, please post them here!

    Thanks

SH is shorthand (penalty kill) and EV is even strength time on ice (PP+SH+EV=TOT). I don't know any other place that gives that much detail in the boxscores. I just checked my usual places and none of them are this indepth.

NHL.com by far the best...as if that's not obvious...

Does NHL.com have the categories I listed above? I think ESPN recently upgraded their public NHL stats so I am looking at gathering some data.

If you believe NHL.com offers more information, please post a link to a boxscore and a description of the extended stats.

I do see now that NHL.com has good stats. I wasn't clicking past their basic box score (poor web design, not intuitive!)

The event summary is really what I need, although the play by play could be useful if you can automate the data reduction into something useful.
