    Excellence - NHL - 10/11/2010 Picks
Game: Boston Bruins @ Pittsburgh Penguins
Pick: Under 5,5 goals, 1,80 on Expekt

For me the value of this game is in the two keepers who will start the game. Side of the team from Massachusetts, is an incredible Tim Thomas. There have been blameless in all or nothing, but let's see ... The Boston Bruins in 11 games totaling 7 wins and 4 losses, 4 losses were such that when all the Bruins Tuukka Rask they put all the victories in Boston were obtained with the commanding voice of Tim Thomas. This season already has three shutouts and suffers an average of 1 goal per game, it sure is helped by a great defense, but many are indeed impressive.

On the other hand, the goal the Penguins will be another goalkeeper who has also been very well, having also won the place-holder Marc-Andre Fleury. I speak for Brent Johnson, guardian, who already has a shutout this season and taking the game with Dallas that has 5 goals, never suffered more than 2 goals a game. Has a record of 6-1-1, an average of 1.62 goals per game and conceded an effective defense in the order of 94%.

They are also teams that have rows of very competent Penalty Kill, 92.9% for Chara and effectiveness of the company and 87.5% efficiency for the home team.

Conclusion: It is true that there are two teams that score many goals but I am expecting two very competent goalkeepers and not suffer more than 2 goals each. So much like the line below 5,5 goals.

Game: Buffalo Sabres @ New Jersey Devils
Pick: Buffalo Sabres ML, 2,30 on Bwin

Sabres and Devils are faced today for the third time this season, previous meetings have dictated a victory for each of them, interestingly enough was the visitor to win in the away match. In Buffalo the Devils won 1-0 with a goal in overtime already. In New Jersey and the Sabres won well 6-1. Ryan Miller is still out, as well as Martin Brodeur will also be out of the meeting today, both due to injury. Is it really interesting that we have two teams on the ice in crisis and will have to play with the goalkeeper backups.

The Sabres are currently 4-9-2 record and finished in last Friday with a sequence of five defeats when Toronto won 3-2, although it was only using the "Penalties". In goal will be the Rookie Jhonas Enroth, who will make his second consecutive start the holder. Enroth, with 22 years called for a total of 23 shots in regulation time and extra time and conceded just one goal on five occasions in the shootout, winning just his first victory of his career. The Buffalo team has only 10 points now, just one more than the opponent tonight. Derek Roy was finally able to return to the goals against the Maple Leafs, so after three game without scoring any goals. Curious fact is that tonight Lindy Duff will hold its 1000 th game as coach, only the 18th coach in history to reach that mark.

Like the team from Buffalo, the Devils could not count again with Martin Brodeur still reeling with a right elbow injury. So Johan Hedberg is again, now with a record of 1-2-0 and a very low average of 5.5 goals conceded / game. If you have not already Brodeur gives the assurances he gave to a few years, there will definitely Hedberg to give such guarantees. The Devils, now with only four wins in 14 games, are in urgent need of victories. Over the past four games lost on three occasions and were blank on two occasions. To make matters worse his followers begin to despair, because I have not won any game playing at home and urgently need to give joy to its followers.

Ilya Kovalchuk continues without his partner Zach Parise, remains far below expectations, making just two points from their last six games, these fruits of points 2 assists. Brian Rolston joins the list of Parise unavailable.

Conclusion: It will be a game afflicted tonight, but for me I believe the advantage lies currently on the side of the visiting team, will today at the Beacon a rookie coming from his first win in the league soon after his 2nd game as a starter, which certainly have given him a boost of morale and will want to take the bad time for the Devils get another good showing. Another factor in my opinion could be very important is the fact that the visiting team want to give a victory to his coach in his 1000th game as manager. Side of the Devils do not see resources to achieve many victories in the coming weeks, and Buffalo Hedberg and pay well above par, I think the value is all on the side of the visitors.
