    DVL's Monday Night Locks
I know I'm 1-4 but I'm feeling really good about tonight.
The teams are finally settling into the season, and it's more than a coin toss now.
I've made some (good) money on College Football this weekend, so I have lots to play with....

    Monday Night Locks

NHL: Colorado Vs. New York Rangers SMALL play
    Play: Colorado (ML at 1.95)

A lot of people are playing the under as the smart play tonight, but I'm not sold on it. It was just announced that the Avalanche are going to play with only 7 defense, so they're going to be more tired than usual. The Rangers are the favorites at home, but they are playing without Marian Gaborik and Chris Drury, so the top line includes Christensen and White. The Avalanche have looked really good this season and are coming off of a bad loss to the Islanders. I really like the Avalanche in this one. Would consider the puckline, but am not sure how the goals will play out. To me, the over/under is WAY too much of a coin toss today. Take Colorado at the 1.95 moneyline.

NHL: Dallas vs. Tampa Bay BIG play
    Pick: Under 5.5 (2.10)

This game should be a battle of two good middleweights. Both should be in 7th or 8th in their conference by the end of the year. Dallas has really overachieved so far this season, and looks good doing it. Tampa has also looked good at times, but also lost really badly to the panthers in their last game. I think this game should be close, and would even predict an OT game between the both of them. Looking at the betting lines, there is one that really stands out to me. I really like the under 5.5 in this game at 2.10. After letting in 6 goals on saturday, Tampa really should have pounded defense in practice and will be hungry not to get down early. Dallas has scored 3+ goals in all their games this season, how long can this trend run? I really like the 2.10, think it will pay out nicely for me tonight.

NHL: St. Louis vs. Chicago SMALL play
Play: St. Louis (ML at 2.30)

I'm really going to go out on a limb here and say that I don't like Chicago's chances in this game. With an upcoming game against Vancouver and two wins in a row, I get the feeling a team like Chicago will be distracted away from the game. When I look at St. Louis' last two losses I see a team that is hungry for a win, and will get one soon. St. Louis has a very hungry young team, and I see them beating Chicago. This is my pick that is based on gut feeling and not numbers. So take it for what it's worth, I just think Chicago will come out distracted and St. Louis will come out really hungry. With the moneyline at 2.30 for St. Louis, I think this game is too appealing to not take.

    My Sexy Pick: DAL/TB U5.5 2.10
My Other two Picks: COL ML 1.95
    STL ML 2.30

Take them separately or a $5 parlay bet will net you $47
    I like tonight! Good luck!

I like them all except the under 5.5 in the tampa game. It is hard to take an under when you have two teams who can pound in the pucks.

Most teams in the NHL can put pucks in the net. I really like Tampa to be playing huge defense after letting in 6 goals the game previously. The trend in the NHL right now seems to be the under, and it's an incredible value in this game.

Only 7 defense for Colorado? You usually only play 6 defensemen in a game. 7 > 6. Isn't that a plus for the under?

As a Rangers fan, the loss of Gaborik and Drury will cripple their offense. Not only do I see a huge value in Colorado, who should be the favorite in the game, but I also don't see NYR scoring more than 2 goals in this game. Lundqvist has allowed 4ish goals a game so far, but I see him due for a game. If NYR has any chance in winning, they'll need a near perfect night from King Henrik.

With all that said, I think the Under comes in with ease here.
