JoJB's NHL 2010-2011 Picks Thread

This sport is my passion. I feel like I have a pretty good understanding of it. That being said, as a gambler, I will probably still suck. But lets give it a shot.

October 15th:

New Jersey Devils -140(Little bit of juice, but I'm not buying this Colorado hype. I know they are on three days rest, but they aren't nearly as good as being made out to be.)

New York Rangers -1.5 (+215) (The Leafs are a distant second favorite of mine.. However, this will be the night they get their first loss. I like the Rags' line up this year.)

Montreal Canadiens +130 (Until the Sabres give me a reason to NOT fade them...)


(Other plays I like, but am not playing: Atlanta, Vancouver, Vancouver/LA OV 5.5, Penguins -1.5, Jackets.)

Unreal. 17-3 the Devils out shoot the Avs but the Avs bury on a BS goal and its 1-0.

Not a good start.. But the Devils should have won that hockey game.

October 16th:

I'm way late, but I will screenshot a parlay that I put together earlier if it wins.. (Isles, Giants, Sharks -1.5)

Dallas Stars -120 (In my standings predictions I had Dallas easily making the playoffs.. They are gonna be a force this year especially if they can get good goaltending in Lehtonen.)

San Jose Sharks -1.5 +125 (Atlanta on a back to back in game that went to a shootout down here in SoCal, and Sharks have had plenty of rest and are flat out better.)

Calgary Flames -1.5 +215 (Revenge on their cross-town rivals.)

The Sharks really decided to f*** me over last night.. They pot the first two then give up 4 unanswered.. Assholes. 2-1 yesterday though.

Record: 3-3.

October 17th:

Anaheim Ducks -1.5 +220

October 18th Plays:

Ottawa Senators +145 (Revenge factor from last year after the Pens bounced them out.)

Dallas Stars +115 (One of the best teams in the Western Conference, IMO, and they keep rolling. Only thing that worries me is Stamkos..)

Rangers / Avalanche UNDER 5.5 (No Gabby, No Drury. The Rangers wont score more than 2 barring an empty netter. And they still might win I almost played them because of Henrik.)

Record: 4-4.

October 20th Plays:

Atlanta Thrashers -115 (Until Buffalo figures it out..)

Vancouver Canucks +135 (I feel the Canucks were looking ahead to this game against the Hawks.. And the Wild gave them their wake up call. Hate the Nucks but they get it done tonight.)

Los Angeles Kings -1.5 +150 (My boys will hand it to the Canes who put forth their best effort last night in San Jose.)

What a brutal ass night. Luongo made the saves in the shootout.. But not. Kopitar has an empty net at the end of the game and Staal trips him up.. 0-3. Good Lord. Record: 5-9.

October 21st Plays:

Washington Capitals EVEN (Gotta get revenge after they got dealt a loss at home by the same squad they are playing.)

Edmonton Oilers -1.5 +250 (They've been in Alberta for almost a week thinking about the loss to their cross-town rivals. In comes Minnesota.. And the home teams have dominated the series. Lets go, kids!)

Los Angeles Kings +105 (My boys get it done again in Phoenix.)

Oh and for fun: I made a play on the Giants +107..

Minnesota Wild +180 (Simply worth the shot because Luongo isn't in goal and they are missing Hamhuis and Ballard.)

Ottawa Senators +130 (Ottawa owns this team.)

Atlanta Thrashers -125 (I hate myself. But I feel they should win.)

Montreal Canadiens PL +240 (Phoenix has a rough time in Montreal..)

Los Angeles Kings -110 (My boys get it done again.)

7-12 Record. Sucks, but I have a feeling I'll be closer to .500 after today.. But since I said that I'll lose both.)

F@(kin Coyotes get some garbage goal to tie it and ruin the Montreal PL. Kings one in a nail biter though. 8-13.

October 26th Plays:

Ottawa Senators PL +200 (Phoenix on a back to back, and Ottawa has been at home thinking about getting shutout by the Habs..)

Edmonton Oilers +160 (These guys have to be sick of losing.. And don't want to continue their losing streak to their cross-town rivals.)

Toronto Maple Leafs PL +185 (This is just playing with my heart. C'Mon Leafs!)
