I have done pretty decent on Hockey in the past, for some reason to start the season I have hit a rough patch, not averaging 50% since I started the season.
I was curious on what approaches some of you take to capping Hockey? I don't usually consider trends in any sport.. If it's a conference game or Rivalry I might look at trends, but trends to me are fluff alot of the times.
I like to create my own "Power Rankings" for Hockey and each professional sport I bet on.. I then take into consideration the road vs home records for both of the clubs, and what their offensive and defensive rankings are.. Ofcourse injuries and weather factor into it as well (Weather in football and baseball only) obviously...
I then take the matchups I feel good about and perform a simple multiple regression analysis on each of the teams to try and identify which one might possibly create a larger standard deviation than what the lines in Vegas say..
Like I said I am just looking for some alternative information and ways to approach Hockey.. IF anyone has any good info I would really appreciate it
Thanks!
