P.O.D. Challenge

Welcome back to the official play of the day (P.O.D.) thread. We had a lot of fun in our half season we did last year and I am definitely looking forward to a competitive full year of picking.

Rules
-Anyone can enter. Not limited just to "regulars."
-Entry fee of 25 SBR points. (5 to me for record keeping, 20 into prize pool for the top cappers.)
-1 SINGLE PICK each day, no parlays are allowed!
-Any type of bet is fine including: PL, ML, Totals, period totals, prop bets etc.
-All bets are flat 1 unit bets only. Eg: $100 on any dog (+100 or higher) and 1 unit on favorites, $190 to win $100 on -190 for example.

I definitely learned from last season that it is in my best interests to charge an entry to do this or we will have dozens of people who make 1 or 2 plays then never return, resulting in a massive clusterfvck in the standings. I hate to charge points but I feel I deserve a bit at least for my hardwork Anyways I am looking forward to this again this season as we should have another fun FULL season this year This contest will just be for the regular season by the way

Wouldn't be the same without you buddy You were killing it til your tough stretch at the end of the year. Still amazes me you never took any juice at all, always underdogs and still came out on top

But out of curiosity, why not just create a contest for it (http://contests.sbrforum.com/contest/create/ Seems easier than posting in here daily and trying to keep track, etc. It can be customized (under Create/Start League) to do exactly what you are proposing in the rules (1/day, 1 unit, 25 points entry, etc).

Not a problem you will catch on fast I'm sure just stay away from the high juiced favorites on the ML as it's tough to make money picking -150 or higher all year long.

Yeah, I figured as much. I'll probably toy with + ML and totals to begin with until I watch some and figure out what's going on. I think the last time I watched regularly was the Stars 1999 Stanley Cup season.

I've been wagering lately on +ML Tennis and it's been profiting at a decent, albeit small, clip (for example, 225 wagered across 16 matches last night for a profit of 37).

It's also what's going to make Fantasy Hockey very interesting.

Good question I forgot to explain this. You can use any book you want to get the best odds possible.

3) Cecil 127, have 7 points, don't risk them today and you can join tomorrow.
4) I lost more than 400 points on the SBR casino playing stud poker. After dealer qualified 8 consecutive times I started chasing, but dealer qualified 14 consecutive times, and count didn't stop. My points were gone before I could see how long the streak would go. Beware of the casino and don't chase.

8 people confirmed now and a good pot building now with 200 SBR points. I will figure out how many to pay after a month or so into the season probably as we are bound to get a bunch of late stragglers signing up.
