    Flyers fans we are in trouble
    Leighton out until the end of October, Boucher will start

    Lappy out with post concussion syndrome

    Going to be a rough month of October for the Flyguys

          Leighton will miss a month with a back injury
          Michael Leighton is expected to miss a month due to a bulging disc in his back.
          This is coming just a day after Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said his team wasn't concerned about Leighton's injury. With Leighton scheduled to miss the start of the season, Brian Boucher is now scheduled to serve as the team's starting goaltender. Johan Backlund and Sergei Bobrovsky will probably fight for the backup gig. Sep. 28 - 12:34 pm et

                  LOL 16 team league. I was counting on him to be my #2 guy. Figured he was good for 35 wins and decent stats.

                      I guess his true colors are coming out like everyone said about him int he past, always injured.

                      Hope that russian guy bobravosky gets the job soon, hes solid

                                      hey, boucher had it it tied up against the best in the business with 2 to go in reg. plus it was to kovi and it's preseason....give 'em some slack.

                                          I would say backlund to the rescue but he just had surgery, so yeh...bobravosky to the rescue until Leighton gets back

                                              Boucher can get the job done as a starter for a short period of time. Flyers should be fine... Also, it's not like Leighton is a top goalie, the type you rely on to win matches single-handedly. He's easily replaceable.

                                                                                  Laviolette will keep Zherdev in line, don't worry about zherdevs past, its not an issue when you have a laviolette coaching. The flyers lacked toughness in the stanley cup finals. Shelley adds that toughness, especially NOW that Lappy's career might be coming to an end. Asham, ugh hes a nobody if you ask me, he has his moments, but not really a tough guy like Shelly and Carcillo

                                                                                  Me neither, I went to the pre season game last night and Leino played, his first game all off season, and wow...just wow, he still has it, he was dangling around people like there was no tomorrow, but I did notice he looked fatigued, but give him another 3 games, he will have his stamina back in no time.

                                                                                              we just gonna hafta agree to disagree on that one....AA's hands hit like cinder blocks & could score where carcillo is just an instigator and not a whole, whole lot more. yes he has his moments but i dont consider him a "tough guy". a 34 y/o shelley? stay tuned.

                                                                                                      agree. leighton wasnt a true #1. losing lappy on the pk is gonna hurt more than laighton. bob is looking like he has great potential..... i was act practice last week and i watched giroux and zherdev go breakway for breakaway and zherdev's hands might be right right up there with giroux's. the fact that he isnt in the doldrums of columbus or with the ever underachieving rangers will keep his head in the game. no worries here
