#6442Chin up dude.
We've all been where you are and felt how you feel and know how rough it is.
Even if you make the right plays there are no guarentees and there have been a lot of sick beats and/or crazy scores this season. Nucks game last night was such an over looking at stats, yet only 3 goals.
Keep your head up man good cappers will come out on top in the endComment -

#6443Okay, gotta say a few things after reading this thread last night at work.
First off, DG, I thought I read you had closed your twitter account. I'm hoping you have changed your mind, as that is an excellent way to follow your picks, instead of having to check in all the time here. I will admit, I do tail a lot of your plays, but use my own judgement as a final call, as everyone should do, and use my own money management, which everyone should also do. For example, I stayed away from the Classic, but played yesterday, as I thought they were decent plays. Went light on the 1st period play, and went a little heavier on the Nucks ML. Worked out last night, but doesn't always.
No offense, but one thing that does scare me a little, is your money management DG. I don't remember what you said you were going to start with this season, 1500-2000 or something, but I think you have dipped below that a couple times, and bet basically that entire bankroll in one night last night.
You will always have some people bitching, but I'm guessing there are heavy haters now because they are blindly tailing, possibly chasing, and losing their money. I can't see any other reason why someone would get so upset at someone elses picks. My thread for example, I'm doing awful of late, I know nobody is tailing me (at least I hope not), and I'm guessing that's why no haters there. In all theory, I should be taking as much guff as you are, and probably many others at SBR.Originally posted by DennisGreenAppreciate everyone who is cool and a regular on this thread you make my time enjoyable here.
I let the haters get to me, from now on I'll just be blocking them.
See you all tomorrow and hopefully I get this shit turned around for good.

On the other side of the fence, I am glad to see people staying positive, as you have to when you get down, but I am not stoked on just 'yes men' saying how good the plays are. There has to be a happy medium. I want to see some constructive criticism here. That is why we are here right?? To help each other out!!!!!
Speak your mind, say why you think it's a good play, or not, don't just say you love it, or it's a terrible play.
Maybe somewhere in between being a dick, Wiesnak was trying to be helpful?Originally posted by Wiesnakthis guy is gonna go broke with he overs, stick to TT bud .. that sould be ur new bread and butter
Have you been nailing the Team Totals?
Try doing what you did prior to this season. Go over your bets this year so far, find out what you're hitting, what you're not, and where your strong points are. What's different this year from last? Too many followers? Too much pressure?
No nead to give up, in fact retiring will be the last thing you do if you keep this up, lol. All kidding aside, this train can be turned around, and I don't think one big play a day is the way to do it. It wouldn't have changed a thing last night. Play your game DG. Claw your way back, don't try and swing for the fence, there's still a lot of season to go. Best of luck going forward everyone, and keep your stick on the ice!Originally posted by DennisGreenClose to retiring now boys. Running like white trash this year. One big play a day only for me for the near future.

#6444It is super frustrating to hear people sincerely post things after the game is over about why it ended the way it did. LOL at everyone who is doing this.
Its so easy to write a concise post about why a game went a certain way, after the fact. Honestly, try writing a complete concise paragraph before the puck drops and make it completely against DG's pick. At least that way you can earn some respect.
You know what DG might be down a few thousand but in reality it is is not that much money. Plus when you look at his past records he is clearly up on gambling overall anyway. He has had a bad NHL season, its true but its not over and at least he's been honest. How many friggin' people on here change names, don't keep records, don't post records, start records over, etc, etc. There is so much shit on this forum its unbelievable. You know when you have found a solid capper. When you find one that doesn't hesitate to update his record for the season and post that he is down 2K+ in NHL and still make picks the next day. I can't think of many who are this honest at what they do other than DG.
And FFS after all this he has the balls to post picks still so I just gotta say I have a ton of respect for him.Comment -

#6445Good posts fjordo and sapidoc. Yeah I will admit I've felt a lot more pressure this year with a bigger following. I hate the fact I've lost a lot of people money this year so I've been making some dumb bets at times.
I have capped the same way this year it just seems like I can't catch breaks this year like I did last year. Obv the first period overs have been the biggest difference as I made about 3000 on those last year but have had no luck at all with them this year.
I will not give up despite all these swings I've endured this year. Was pretty wasted on tequila yesterday so that did not help with the emotions after a big losing day.
As for Twitter it doesn't look like I can reopen my old account so maybe I'll start a new one at some point.Comment -

#6446Dennis, just a few words of encouragement:
Sometimes we try new things to see what happens and hope for the best (I did the same thing with 1st period overs and game totals) It didn't work, and it still doesn't! But I keep on trying, because I can't help it but I did lower the amount - so that's good! Another thing is when you analyze the games if you get the first one wrong, and then the second - chances are everything will go wrong that day or best case scenario even! About the money! It's alright! dont worrie about it, it's gone now (the good thing about it is you have the skills and knowledge to take it all back) - now you gotta recover and stay focused - nice and easy - also wait for the right moment to smash a game from one angle and boom you will be back in the game in no time.
remember: Do your thing, forget about everything else, test the water, see how it goes, go back in time if you have to and see what works and what doesn't.
This is it! there is no running back - if you love sports and you want to make money this is what you have to go through.

#6447Dennisgreen, let all those haters go **** theirselfs.....
I like your input around here, sometimes i use your tips to judge my own picks, im not following you, but I must say you pick your plays nicely, just bad luck sometimes like the classic 2 dissallowed etc. If that had hit the world did look different by now, but unfortunatly those things doesnt always happen.....
Just play your own game and dont chase your money, you will get on top again.
And thanks to your in superb form team
, cashed the ml yesterday, they are doing great!

#6458Yea man...I have to agree with fjordo, you are a great NHL capper, just some bad money management that gets you in trouble sometimes, from what I've seen...I mean that with alot of respect. I can't cap NHL as well as you can. If you really look at it, you really only got ****** by 3 games, winter classic, wings philly, and then a bunch of bets that relied on van/col having a high scoring game. Maybe pick one of those outcomes to go big on and small on the others? (ie. go big on van over and small on the others?)Comment -

#6461Best of luck DG. You'll get it back, don't worry man. I went through it as well. I started the year hot but than went on a brutal 1-19 slide. But since than I have been hitting 50% of my bets or higher. Currently I'm sitting at 49% 85-86-3, but overall ahead.
Just gotta be patient in this game. One season you might hit 60%, the next you may be below 50%, it happens man.Comment -

#6468I love the Under tonight. I've got U5.5 at 3.35 on betfair. You can get U6.5 for 2.01 on pinnacle.Originally posted by baryonBtw, any thoughts on the CAN/USA game
Why is the Under so good? Well the U.S has a solid defense that doesn't allow teams to score easily. Canada does have the best offense in this tournament but I can't see them playing overly offensive as they know their defense has lapsed all throughout the tournament and if they give up the chances to the Americans they will lose. The U.S. will play the same way, won't take many chances and be happy to grind through a physical defensive style.
So it all boils down to the tempo of the game. Canada hasn't played a defensive/methodical game yet but I think they tighten up preventing the odd man rushes. And the good thing about 6.5 is that if it's 3-3 it goes into an OT of 10 minutes 4v4 then shootout so you can still win with a 3-3 score at shootout.

US goalie is playing amazing right now, and like you said, Canada needs to focus on playing solid two way hockey against the US ... that means a more defensive minded game.Comment -
