    Is the NHL Fixed...
Just popped this thought because it comes up so much in NBA, little less in MLB and further down (way) is NFL. Very rarely does the idea ever come up that the NHL is fixed. Is it just that the media doesn't focus on it, is it that there's not enough cash envolved? Just wondering as it seems a lot of NBA and MLB threads have "fix" theories involved-yet virtually untouched is the NHL. Just thinking, cheers

Every sport has games where the outcomes are influenced by money.

Seems like there might be more variance in the nhl, making it harder to fix. Calling powerplays would obviously help but the reffing in the league is far from eggregious.

Further down is the NFL??? It is tied directly to gambling, if you think the NFL is squeaky clean you are insane.

          Yes..

Bill McCreary has already made his bet on the Hawks for Wednesday and there
is speculation that he has bet a couple dimes with Paul Devorski on the Total...

but you wont read about this or see it on ESPN...

it would be bad for the game...you understand.....if it became public...

Tim Donaghy gave McCreary his bookie's number.

True enough LB. Just felt it seems so much more talked about, displayed, hypothesized about in other sports...Looking at the difference between hockey and basketball was just my thought. My theory is it's the same in proportion as the NBA/MLB just that the NHL is so much smaller in market, etc so it doesn't get publicized as much. And for your info Illy there is no cheating in the NFL - Belichick was taking pictures for Home & Garden magazine...Cheers all
