    Best Sportsbook in Vegas?
Hey boys I posted this over in the players forum but no responses. I'll be heading to Vegas for 5 days or so this weekend and have only been there once and that was before I was into betting sports and it was mostly a blur of drunkenness. Anyways just wondering what some good sports books to go to are? Preferably one you don't have to pay $100 to be a VIP member at. I'll be betting usual DG amounts like $100-$500 range mostly.

I have only been to the ones on the Strip. Venitian has a pretty good Sportsbook. Bellagio has a good one as well. MGM's one is good as well.

I do not think there are to many bad books in vegas unless you go to the guy in the back booth in a hole in the wall bar off strip. LOL

These are good suggestions. But it depends on where you are staying on the Strip.

Also, The Venetian gives 1 drink ticket for every $50 bet, Up to 3 drink tickets per transaction. So, if you bet $150-$200 each time at the sportsbook window, ask for drink tickets. That will save you some money drinks.

The Bellagio had free drinks in their sportsbook, last time I was there. Only problem, there is limited seating so you have to get there really early on Saturday & Sunday. Almost impossible for me.

MGM, nice sportsbook. Pretty big with lots of TV's. However, you have to bet $250 for 1 drink ticket.
              Same with Caesar's.
These are great places to watch the games, but I don't want to pay $10 a drink all day (X 20).

Do not go to Treasure Island, Luxor, Imperial Palace sportsbooks unless you are staying there, (out of convenience) . I would not hang at these places. These really suck!

And Circus Circus was a total joke! Stay far away. I couldn't walk through their sportsbook fast enough.

Here is a link to a site that describes all the sportsbooks in Vegas. http://www.vegas.com/gaming/sportsbooks/

These are just my opinions. Good Luck in Vegas!

DG I go out there 5-6 times a year and like the following books:

Palazzo: They have the Lagasse Grill Sporttsbook in the basement. I usually spend most of my time there because they have good food and nice couches with TV's everywhere. They are pretty good about giving multiple free drink coupons. Also, they have beer bucket specials. Very nice place

Caesars: Great old-school sportsbook. Lots of high rollers and can be hard to find a seat. Lots of large screens. (No drink tix)

Wynn: More built for horse betting. Have a nice bar with tons of TV's next to it. (No drink tix)

Mandalay Bay: No free drinks but plenty of TV's. Always able to find a seat.

Paris: Like a big theater and great about free drinks.

Hard Rock: Very small book, but great service with free drink tix. I like it there because I feel like I'm hanging with a real bookie in his shop.

Note: Palms does not have NBA betting and Luxor, Planet Hollywood, and TI suck.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any advice. I will be there Memorial Day weekend for 5 days. Good luck man.

I live in Vegas and I'm in casinos virtually every day.

Different sportsbooks are good for different purposes. If you're looking for a place just to hang out and watch a game, the Palazzo wins in a landslide. Aria and Wynn are also pretty good... Caesar's and Bellagio are okay during off hours, but they get smoky and super crowded during busy times.

For betting purposes: the Hilton, M, Lucky's franchises (Plaza and Terrible's), Cal-Neva franchises (Binions, 4 Queens, Tuscany) are probably the best individually.

For line shopping downtown is awesome. In a very small area there are 6 different sets of lines and many of the books are very good. It's fastest if you hit:
Plaza (Lucky's), Golden Gate (Leroy's franchise), Golden Nugget (Indy), Binion's (Cal-Neva), and then Fremont (Boyd). El Cortez is also somewhat close. They deal the Gaughan/Palms/Cannery line. Another good line shopping loop is Harrah's-Venetian-Wynn-TI-Mirage. This is a lot of walking, especially the strip loop, but it gives you a purpose if you feel like walking down the strip and checking out the sites. You can cut down on the strip loop time by cutting out either Harrah's or TI since those are the weakest books of the 5.

Whenever I am in Vegas, I play at the Hilton, for me it is the best all round sportsbook for my needs.

yeah plus the rooms are so decent for the price.. you can usually score a decent suite for like a 100 a night.. the rail system runs right into the casino and will be at the center of the strip in 10 mins flat

Well I am back in Canada now thanks for your advice everyone. I spent most of my time at MGM mostly because of it's location. Caesar's was sweet but just too far away from my hotel to walk daily. MGM was good except for their $250 bet for one drink ticket. I bought many $7 beers there while I railed Overall I did well going 6-1 +$1085 in my sports betting and paid for my flight and hotel and some spending money as well. I love the Vegas and will miss it dearly
