World Championships --- Fade Canada?

If anyone has been following the world championships this year they'll know the US shit the bed like champs and had to play in the relegation round with France, Italy and Kazakhstan..... On another note, Canada team isn't all that great and Stamkos is out with a concussion. They've lost to the Swiss and today they lost to the Swedes. Ya they destroyed Norway.... but for real, they haven't shown anything against quality teams. The Russkies are the biggest threats with Gonchar and Malkin joining + a team full of other studs.

Is it worthwhile to bet 'any team other than Canada to win?' I can buy it 2.9/1 (meaning to win $100 I would risk $290). Anyone think this is a good investment??? I love Canada but I just don't think they have the roster.

DEFINITELY!!! I'm from Canada and I just happened to see the game today against the Swedes and they look like crap. The Canadians thought it would be funny if they sent there World Junior team to this tournament, what a joke. Canada will not win this tournament and take that 2.9/1 odds, that will cash.

There are rumors that Canada lost on purpose against Sweden so they do not have to face Russia right away. I think Russia will win this fairly easy, I would bet Canada not to win if my book offered it. But I do think Canada will win today against Czech Republic who looked like crap yesterday.

I didn't pull the trigger at 2.9/1 and now the best I can get is 5.7/1 which I'm seriously considering as this team is getting owned by the Czechs (took Canada ML on this too.... lol at me) so ya, if Canada loses this they play the Russians in the Quarters... I can't see Canada winning that by any stretch of the imagination.

Whoever wins between Canada or Russia, that team has one easy trip to the final waiting for them. Switzerland or Germany waiting for them in the semifinal. These teams aren't even hockey nations.

Agreed D3, that's the problem in the capping business all the should haves and could haves.... ahhh well, i suspect it will be the correct play and will cash. You can't even get it anymore at betfair so it's good i took it when i did.

Josu, Canada got owned by the Swiss... the Swiss on paper may not be a good squad but they all play with each other in the Elite League (or whatever it's called) and have some strong cohesion. The Canadians are a bunch of throw together players who don't seem to be gelling(sp?).
