Canucks are for real all you doubters. I keep hearing they are overrated, wrong. Underrated more like it. They have had great secondary scoring all season and dont let Luongos stats fool you he is still a world class goaltender. This group is extremely tight and is really driven to go all the way this year. Who wants action on Patrick Kane shaving his mullet off? I bet you its gone by game 2.

Yeah, too many people on the Canucks Kool-Aid. What concerns me about Chicago though, and this is despite them having a better team this year, is this Jeckyl & Hyde personality the team has where they have a horrible game severely lacking in the effort department and then bounce back with the kind of dominant performance they are capable of. They didn't do this last year, last year's Hawks always showed up, never gave up, and had something to prove. This year's team plays like just because they're the almighty Chicago Blackhawks that every team that stands in their way on the road to the Stanley Cup is just gonna lay down to the most talented team in the league. I truly believe that regardless of what happens for the rest of the playoffs that Joel Quennville and the rest of his coaching staff will be looking for work at the end of the season. Their passive emotionless coaching style where they just leave players to their own devices on the ice and in the dressing room isn't helping this young team in the discipline or development department. If the Hawks bounce back and play the gritty simple brand of hockey they did against the Canucks last year and they'll roll them in 6 again. They are the better team but they have to start playing like it.

It's gotta be much closer tonight, but I predict a Canucks win. With the two teams being so evenly matched, I think it will come down to goaltending, and Luongo seems to be getting hot at the right time for once.

I couldnt agree with this post any more. As a Hawks fan living in Chicago, I have grown to lose alot of respect for Coach Q this year, despite their good season. First off, he has never been a good playoff coach with alot of early exits with some very good teams. He couldnt get them prepared right for game 1 in the Nashville series, and now with the different style that is required to play against Vancouver, they again came out flatter than flat. Niemi is not the problem and even considering playing Huet is just outright stupid. The Hawks need to check their big heads at the door. Patrick Kane acts like he is Michael Jordan in this town and he hasnt won a thing yet. Having said all of this and believe it or not, I AM a huge Hawks fan but think Vancouver will get their revenge this year, probably in 6 games.

In round 1, Chicago followed up their losses to Nashville with shutouts in games 2 and 4. I'm not saying the Hawks will win, but I think this game is a heck of a lot closer than the first one.

if the Canucks can win tonight and take a 2-0 lead going home for 2 games, wow that would be huge.

Remember last year, Van was up 2 games to 1 and was leading game 4 until the last minute. A minute away from a 3-1 series lead! Hawks scored and then won in OT to even it up at 2 games to 2. Canucks were never the same and lost the next 2.

Finally some hockey talk at SBR.

I see Vancouver taking it in 6 games. Their D is a little weaker, but Luongo will be on top of his game this series. Chicago has weaker/inexperienced goaltending IMHO. They have a very good top 2 lines and 3 - 4 pluggers which will make things interesting for Luongo, but Luongo should be able to handle them.

I'm taking the Hawks on the ML. They love to come out flat in series openers and then usually follow up with a dominant effort. Niemi has a history of rebounding with a shutout after allowing 4+ goals in a game.

LOVE the Under 6 tonight, LOVE IT. Luongo is Luongo, and I guarantee the 'Hawks play much much better in their end than they did the other day.

Simply said, but entirely true. This was a really fun game to watch. Lots of hits, posts, and intensity. If the rest of this series plays out like this game (as opposed to game one) we could be in for a treat.
