Kirk Maltby continues to recover from shoulder surgery which he underwent during the Olympic break and is unlikely to return to the ice this year with the faint possibility that he could return if the Red Wings go deep in the playoffs.
San Jose
Jed Ortmeyer continues to recover from a lower body injury which held him out of the majority of the first round of the playoffs. He remains questionable for whether or not he will be able to play in Friday's Game 1 of the second round against the Red Wings.
Niclas Wallin missed the last three games of the first round series against the Avalanche with a lower body injury and remains questionable for Friday's Game 1 of the second round against the Red Wings.
