I think you guys are dismissing the most important factor in tonight's game:

Wings just played a 7 game hard fought series, while the Sharks mostly dominated (in play not score) the Avs

Wings will be tired and it will show

This might be true but many times in hockey teams coming off game 7 wins have that extra jump over the new opponent and win the opening game before going out quietly in 6 games.

This was a bad spot to take Detroit, I think. Short rest against a solid team. I have the Wings to win the series, but Game 1 was going to be a stretch to win - I actually told myself to wait and take Detroit after Game 1 because they'll probably be about +135 or something to win the series now, but I didn't want to miss out. Took 'em at +105. They should feel good though because they fought hard the whole game and battled back. Need to shore up the PK, but they still have a shot at getting the split in Game 2 which is what they would like to do.

We were very pleased with how Detroit played and we will be backing them for game 2 as well.

Detroit played a better game besides that 89 seconds. A 3-0 lead and ended 3-4. Wings are fine
