Is the Monkey Off of San Jose's Back?
San Jose was knows as one of the worst playoff teams in the NHL. They started the playoffs by losing game one at home, and losing a game by scoring on their own goalie in OT. Despite that, they came roaring back in Games 5 and 6 to dominate Colorado and close the series out. Now granted, Colorado is certainly not the toughest team that San Jose will face, but allindications are that this team has finally tossed the monkey off of it's back.

If this is the case, San Jose is going to be very tough to beat. Nabokov is one of the top goalies in the league. The Sharks certainly have the scoring power. Could this finally be the year that San Jose silences all of the critics?

I think that San Jose will have to advance to the finals to finally get that monkey off their back.. Similar to the eagles when they lost like 4 straight conference title games

They won't make it out of the 2nd round as long as they have to rely on Setoguchi, Pavelski, and Boyle to carry the team. Their top trio has to step it up big time and start contributing the way they were before the olympics to have any chance of advancing. Then you have Nabokov, the biggest choker of them all, who will have to play lights out against teams that will put a ton more rubber on goal than Colorado was able to. The odds aren't in their favour.
