Why is playoff hockey so different?
Just curious, what are your opinions on this? What makes the playoffs so different? Even when you look at player statistics in the playoffs compared to the regular season, you will see large disparites between regular season performance and playoff performance, good or bad. Some players are lights out all throughout the regular season and can't bring it in the playoffs, and then you got other guys who do more in 10 or 15 playoff games than they have done throughout an 82 game regular season. Thoughts?

playoffs in any sport is different. years of practice go into being as good as these athletes are. hoisting a championship cup and getting a ring are in their thoughts every time they lift a barbell or do something towards that goal. there are some players who struggle, often because 7 games vs 1 team gives each team a lot of chances to make adjustments. also some guys just know how to find ways to win. they always seem to be on championship teams, and always seem to be the ones that are involved during the big plays. just because a guy doesn't play as well in the playoffs doesnt mean he isn't great too. sometimes a team couldnt have gotten as far as they did without a star to carry them

Pressure situations. Some people love them, some people hate them.

there's probably not many who hate pressure situations in the pros. those types get sifted out pretty cleanly in the minor leagues. scouts look at 3 things: confidence under pressure, how you deal with adversity, and skill. you can have the talent of crosby, but if you choke under pressure, you wont get signed.

Yep. Even the vendors step it up. It is sport's most amazing time, in my biased opinion.
