                            As I said in LB's playoff thread. NHL isn't like NBA where the 1 vs. 8 is a walkover. I'm not saying the Habs will win or even get to a game 6 or 7 but they will fight every game to the very end.

                                                        There's always next game and I feel the Caps will win easily. But I know tonight's is what mattered and I can't even imagine the $$$ on this.

                                                                                                FWIW, I made one hockey bet in my life and it was a relatively big one -- under 5.5 on a game that was 2-1 heading into the final minute. Empty net goal made it 3-1 with 48 seconds left. Two goals tied it up from there. Most bizarre thing I've ever seen, and I swore off the NHL for good that day.

                                                                                                                                they have been very lax (sp ?) all year long on defence and the goaltending has been less than average. far to much reliance on the offence to carry the team. they'll win the series but probably not hoist the cup this year.
