Was watching the stream of this since the start of the third, had the Red Wings in this one. Very nerve-racking through-out the whole thing, especially with Nashville going second in the shoot-out. Excellent game by both goalies, Howard is a fukking beast.

Detroit is actually now 6th after the win, but LA has played less games and has a good chance of catching them.

also, something I typed a little earlier:

San Jose hosted Vancouver tonight in a big Western Conference showdown.

San Jose is battling Chicago and Phoenix for the top seed.

Vancouver is basically locked into the third seed, so this game meant nothing for them standings-wise. They'll finish with the fourth most points in the west, in all likelihood, but Phoenix and San Jose are in the same division.

Of San Jose and Phoenix, one will get the #1 or #2 and the other will get the #4.

Heading into this game, San Jose was tied in points with the Coyotes, but with two less games played. So San Jose obviously has the inside track. The fact that Phoenix is even in the picture is due to a huge hot streak for them
