2 things:
1. His defense is not nearly as good as it once was.
2. His team can't trap with quite the same effectiveness as they used to.
The guy was the perfect goalie at the perfect time for the Devils franchise and will go down as the best of all time, no doubt. That being said, he would never have been as effective as Hasek was in Buffalo or Cujo in Toronto for that matter because they are different goalies. Seems to me that what he used to be able to do to be effective doesn't work as well any more and he is having to adjust. Look at the USA/Canada game where everytime he tried to handle the puck he gave it away. That never used to happen because those forecheckers could be interfered with and Broduer could clear the puck everytime.
I don't think he is washed up or close to it, I just think he has had to adjust his game enough that it is no longer what he does best.
