do teams that had large number of players in the olympics benefit from their players staying sharp or is there a natural letdown/fatigue with the short turnaround back into the heart of the NHL schedule?

I can't see any way it would benefit them. Especially not in a 10-20 game period ahead. Resting for a week is a great thing for an athlete who has a lot of small injuries.Comment -

, i think he will be celebrating for a while, and heatley and marleau will be tired also, but those games were at a very intense level , it will take a game or 2 to get back to normal, but these guys are elite athletes, they will be fine very soon,

I don't see it benefitting teams that were highly active in the Olympics, especially players from Canada and the US. There energy level will be expected to come way down as every play was do or die with the intensity of a game 7 in the Stanley Cup. Also, teams not heavily active in Olympics will have had a chance to rest up and get healthy.Comment -
I would not be playing on Buffalo or Vancouver tomorrow. Both Miller and Luongo have to be mentally drained. It will be fascinating to see how Miller fares against Sid the Kid on Tuesday Night in Pitt.
As far as the toll that the Olympics took, Miller, Luongo, and the other goalies wo started for their various countries got the worst of it, though Luongo did not start every game. You wonder what the games did to Brodeur. Will he be a mental case after getting benched, or will he pick himself up and really shine.Comment
