I'm a Brodeur fan, but that's 2 games in a row that the other teams goalie has been better than him. Babcock gave him his shot, now it's time for Luongo to have his.

I'm not a Brodeur fan. The guy is great on a stingy defensive team. He's only ever played for the Devils. Plus, he's getting up there in age. That's two goalies now who have outshined him now and Halak did the same for Slovakia versus Russia. Olympic hockey is all about the goalie and I'm so ****ing sick and tired of everyone saying we have the best goalie in the game. Overall, Brodeur is probably the best there ever is, although I'd dispute that. But he's nowhere near the best RIGHT NOW. And now is all that counts.

Of course they should have. That's what I hate about having guys like Brodeur in net and a team with too much pride. It would have been too much of an "embarrassment" to pull the game's best goalie so we leave him in there to flounder. Those first three U.S. goals, maybe with the exception of the first, were all garbage goals given up by Brodeur. Any other team would have pulled their goalie, but the Canadians, never.

Anyway, there's no shame in the loss to the U.S. who played great. But there's shame in our general inability to score on 40+ shots and in our goalie. I'm almost happy with the loss because it means we get an extra game to build team chemistry and give Luongo a warm-up. Luongo will surely play back-2-back considering he'll probably only face at most 20 shots vs. Germany.

Russia in the Quaterfinals though... That will be the test.
