JS Giguere traded for Jason Blake and Vesa Toskala
As a Ducks fan I am very happy, we finally got rid of useless giggy and that huge contract. I have a feeling Blake will come back and be a 40 goal scorer again.

I'm a Kings fan. My cousin is married to Dustin Brown so I've only been a fan for about 5-6 years, this is the first year of my fanhood we are actually a decent team...

I saw a special feature on the browns during intermission of a kings game. His wife was saying she accomplished more in collegiate hockey than him or something. And now she is just pumping out kids LOL...Do you see them a lot or recently?

That's not too fair or a comparison seeing how he didn't go to college, but I'm not surprised she said that But I keep in touch with them during the season, but I still live in Ithaca (NY), so I usually only see them in the offseason when they're here for a month or two.

Good salary dump for the Leafs. Giggy isn't great like the player he once was but he should provide good mentorship to Gustavsson at least.

Jason Blake is a complete tool and no one from Moorhead had anything good to say about the prick when I lived there.

Not sure how trading Giguere when you have Hiller signed for 4 years and getting a lot of secondary scoring is your concept of giving up.

The Leafs were over their maximum of cancer survivors with Blake and Kessel. They had to let one go or they faced a $200,000 fine at the end of the year.

Jason Blake will never sniff 40 again even if he is never removed from a Getzlaf/Perry line. Never.

Seriously. Like I said, Giguere may be old and busted, but he's still got a lot more upside that Toskala and his rebound control, and Blake and his old man cancer.

Now we (the ducks) have 2 cancer survivors with blake and koivu.

Toskala was a beast with the sharks a few years back. I have a good feeling he will be solid when we need him (when hiller slips up). Can you really blame a goalie for being bad when he plays on the Leafs?

I think you watch hockey, so what you're saying is astounding. Toskala is a joke and if you watch any of his games, it's not his team letting him down. He has no rebound control whatsoever, and his lateral movement has slowed down tremendously. Any goalie on a top team is going to put up impressive numbers. It has a lot less to do with the goalie as it does with the team in front of him.
But I digress. If you want to believe ANA improved from this trade (since it appears you are a homer), that's your delusion.

Giguere had pronger and neidermayer in front of him all those years. Now he will really be tested. Ive been wanting to get rid of him and his contract for a long time. Toskala will come in handy as well as Blake. Good trade overall. Hard to say that they improved, but did clean house and made room in the cap for future improvements. One thing is sure: ANA did not get any worse.
