ducks ottawa game 1 for the cup

Ottawa in 5 for the series and I like them in the opener.

Not really sure what to think about this series just yet. I just have to wonder how this travel schedule will effect both teams.

this series should start as soon as possible, instead of waiting till next Monday. traveling will favor Anaheim as they played lots of games out of the western time zone and should know how to adapt. i believe Ottawa only played 3 games this season out of the EST timezone Chicago,Nashville, st-Louis, so this can affect them. i like Ottawa allot here, but one must look closely at who is scoring for Ottawa. It's mainly one line show (heatly,alfredsson,spezza). If Anaheim can contain this line it will be a cake walk for them as Anaheim other lines are going to crush Ottawa's other lines. Despite Emeries stellar play so far for Ottawa in nets he was not really tested by Buffalo. He has not stolen any games in the playoffs it's all Ottawa's first line. At the other end Giguere stole important game 5 in Detroit. If games go in OT Giguere and the Ducks are unbeatable. My heart is with Ottawa but my handicapping gives the edge to Anaheim.

I agree on the schedule. Silly to wait a week to start. Series should start Saturday.

I like Anaheim in the series and as a small fav in game one.

The total seems about right and I could see that falling either way. Both these teams can score but in game one they may get off to a slow start and feel each other out a bit first.

I thought just the opposite that because of the unknown sloppy goals would be scored and then the teams would buckle down the following games or at least try too.

What xxx meant was that Anaheim is favored in the SERIES because they have home ice advantage. Still, -116 considering that is not much, so Ottawa certainly IS getting a lot of respect here.

You could be right about that too. I just think in the final series the stakes have been notched up to another level and there won't be too many mistakes in the first game. Of course, I have been wrong before. About 50% of the time in fact
