With 9 games left and 3 points out of the last playoff spot the Thrashers cannot afford to lose this game. The Thrashers are also only 5 points behind the Canadians for 5th place as well with a game in hand so it's not only the Bruins they are trying to chase down. The Leafs have played great lately but for me the desperation factor for the Thrashers should be apparent tonight.

The Flames face another must win game tonight as they now sit 4 points back of the Wings with 9 games to play. The Isles season is all but over and they are playing out their remaining games pretty much. It looks like Kipper vs Biron tonight so the Flames should definitely have the edge there. The Flames should come out strong tonight after and hungry to earn the much needed two points.

WAS vs CAR Over 6.5 (-110) Pinnacle $110 to win $100
4 of 5 meetings, including the last 4 have gone over between these two. The Caps are 8-1 for the over in back to back situations and the teams are a combined 81-58 for the over. It looks like Varlamov and Legace will be the goalies tonight and the red light should be turned on at least 7 times in this one

Having to rely on Ondrej Pavelec to deliver and bring Atlanta the W is not a very appealing proposition to me. It is, however, a crucial match that the Thrashers cannot afford to lose.

The other picks look solid to me, DG. I might make a play on CGY in reg time.

Marty Biron's performance is very tough to predict. When he's in the zone, he looks like he's unbeatable. Most of the time however, he plays with his own limits, which are those of a decent back-up goaltender whose confidence can be shaken after 1 bad goal allowed. It can be hard for a goalie to get into a groove when getting 1 single start every 2 weeks. Let's try banking on that. Personally I'm way more confident in a CGY win with Biron in goal than DiPi or Roloson.

So hopefully for us the normal Marty puts on the pads tonight for the Isles.

Best of luck two both of you on the Calgary Flames Game. Im on the other side with New York Islanders. They arent a very good team but at home for some reason, stats are pretty decent. Just think Tavares matches well against a Calgary weak Defence and Iglinias going to have a hard time against NYI.
Stats also favour NYI.
