Phoenix Coyotes vs. Colorado Avalanche
Tonight's matchup brings together two early surprises in the NHL. Both teams have been much better than probably anyone would have predicted, especially Phoenix with the legal dispute going on with the NHL. Both teams are coming off of losses and a day of rest. Anyways Colorado is a bit banged up, having to scratch two decent wingers just yesterday. Budaj gets his first start in net this season for the Av's and he shows a .899 SV% and 2.86 GAA from last year's stats. Phoenix has a solid goalie on their side, Bryzgalov has only 1.78 GAA and a .930 SV%. Both teams are relatively strong, COL is 8-3 in last 11 and PHX is 7-3 in last 10. I like Colorado at home tonight. They are 14-5-1 in its last 20 games when playing at home against Phoenix. Colorado is 4-1 in its last 5 games at home. Colorado has more scoring potential than the Coyotes. Both will show good defense and good goaltending. Colorado's PK (88%) has the advantage over the Phoenix PP (23%). This should be a relatively close game, Coyotes road defense is ranked 2nd in the league, while Colorado's home defense is ranked 3rd in the league. The Coyotes road scoring is 20th in the league and the Avalanche are ranked 3rd in home scoring. Even with the injuries I think Colorado has the advantage here, and the price is right. The bigger play however should be the UNDER. The total has gone UNDER in 10 of Phoenix's last 13 games. The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Phoenix's last 6 games on the road. The total has gone UNDER in 7 of Colorado's last 9 games at home. The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Colorado's last 5 games. Even with Budaj starting I'm still confident, that the money play is the UNDER.
RLM is in effect with this game. I do like the under

I like PHX to win. The under is not a bad play but who knows how Budaj is gonna look. The Avs will get the last line change but PHX plays such a tight game on D I think they will nullify the home ice last line change. The avs have looked real good lately so it's a hard call but I'm gonna put a small wager on PHX.
