Oilers -115 vs Wild
Game Time: 3/1/2007 9:00:00 PM
By: Ben Burns
Get on the Oilers tonight at home when Edmonton entertains the Minnesota Wild for a skate.
The Oilers will have payback on their minds as they just lost at Minnesota on Sunday. The situation favors them to have their revenge this evening as they had last night off while the Wild played a tough game (2-1 loss) at Calgary.
Note that the Wild are an ugly 7-19 (-11.4) the past three seasons when playing the second of back-to-back games, including a 3-7 mark this season. It's also worth mentioning that the Wild, who have just 13 wins in 33 road games, were already down to their second string goalie and that he left last night's game with an injury. That leaves them with an unproven 22-year-old (Josh Harding) between the pipes.
Yes, the Oilers just traded away their leading scorer (Ryan Smyth) but they'll be anxious to atone for Tuesday's poor performance and to prove they can win without Smyth in the lineup. Expect them to do just that!
