For years I capped the NHL myself and did okay. (You can check my posted record over the last several years.) For the last two years I got lazy because I knew my friend did so well, so I just passed along his plays. Everything was fine until the last couple of weeks. I really don't have the time to handicap the NHL, but I'm not counting my Guy out yet. We'll see.

Good afternoon,
I am out of town, and my return flight was cancelled due to these record low temps in the Midwest. My guy told me he is usually takes a few days after the break anyway to start playing. When he has something I will post it if I can.

Well, after two cancelled flights due to 30 below temperatures, I finally made it back.

Hey DD, when you talk to your guy, do you mind asking him why he isn't playing any team totals this year? I know you mentioned last year he played those quite a bit with a good amount of success. I was just curious why he isn't playing them this year. Thanks!Comment -

The Ref Plays:

Sometimes one referee is a strong under or over, but the other ref is neutral. I do not post those as Ref Plays, however for those interested in what I would call a Near Ref Play, I will post them since it's logical that one referee would have somewhat of an influence on the total even though the other referee is neutral.

He liked the Hawks/Edm over but not at 6.5. Plus everyone seems to like them and he tends to be weary of that. Add to that that he is running cold right now, so he is passing personally.

We have both talked about that very question a couple of times. He is working on changing some of his handicapping metrics he has used successfully in the past which are not working as well this year. Simply, he wants to tweak what has worked over the years to reflect the changes in the current game. Also, we all know the totals have gone up this year. We have never seen so many 6.5 goal lines as we're seeing this year, and he does not like playing over 6.5.
